Why are you guys jumping to the conclusion that the album will be Hip-Hop/Rap. Are you guys kidding me? You know that is way out of her comfort zone.
Avril has said MANY times that she makes POP music and that she is a POP artist!![]()

Well at least I am not trashing or hating her for going that directionOriginally Posted by Devon To view the link you have to Register
Don't be in denial, She is clearly going there, And Avril already did that, "Nobody's Fool" and "Girlfriend Remix" proves it, If that is not enough, her choice of producers Alex The Kid, Pharrel Williams and The Runners is a hint, Oh she also tweeted that she love a song from Lil Wayne, she is a fan of Lil Wayne and Rihanna.
Yes it's not Avrl's comfort zone, but knowing Avril, That is also the very strong reason why she is going to to do it, for her, the more out of her comfort zone, the more fun
She also loves urban music
Oh we know she is a POP ARTIST who makes POP MUSIC, but remember Pop music is a diverse genre and very interchangeable, it can be mixed with country, rock and roll, blues, rnb,rap and hiphop.
It's still conclusion, yes, if she do hiphop then fine, if not then it's fine to. But I am betting my money in more believable things, So yes, she might do urban album.

By the way, still no news about the studio? No tweets or anything?
She better make some news even a little bit about it, or else we will back in 2010 where fans will accuse her of slacking of and not working for it!

I'm not denying it will be urban. I know there will be an urban twist to the songs, sort of like Complicated, Nobody's Fool, and even the instrumental to Candy! But it's not going to be straight urban R&B/Rap.
At most, it will be POP-Urban, maybe even Rythmic Top 40

Nobody's Fool is obviously straight hiphop ( not pop rock ) but Complicated have some twist of urban? besides the scratching of turntable, I can't see any urban twist on it.
And Pop Urban is still Hiphop/rnb/Rap in my ears, So the argument is set, She's going full on that direction.

She already said she had the studio booked for when she got home.Originally Posted by avrilxxx15 To view the link you have to Register

Ew Lil Wayne, really?Originally Posted by avrilxxx15 To view the link you have to Register
He's such a bad rapper.

Well she better tweet more about her studio activities, Me I could care less, I know she's working, I just remember the time when many think she's not doing a thing for her album, When the truth is she have to many songs.Originally Posted by Zach To view the link you have to Register

Well, it's not because she said she likes a certain rapper that it means she'll do rap, c'mon. Hilary Duff once said she likes Norah Jones. Shania Twain is a huge ACDC fan.. i could go on and on!
I'm worried though. But in the end Avril is a singer, not a rapper and unless she brings minaj or someone like that into the studio, she'll still be singing. Just wait and see. Genres don't really mean a thing.. I mean katy perry and Avril Lavigne (the caps were done on purpose) are probably labeled under the same genres. fact is i hate perry, the way she sings etc... the same with pink. (i was just stating an opinion, don't bash me please). As long as Avril is true to herself, I'll dig what she puts out and otherwise I just won't buy the record (well I probably still will)..

It's not that she is a fan of a rapper. It's not like thatOriginally Posted by Cyril6 To view the link you have to Register
Like what I said, Her choice of producers, from Alex Da Kid, Pharrel Williams and The Runners tells us what direction she wants, all of them are urban, I don't see the point of them choosing to work with Avril or any other pop rock acts, It's her who chose to work with them.
If it's hiphop or not It doesn't even matter anymore. It's the quality.

Guys you are jumping into conclusions.
Just because her producers are mainly rap music producers (& btw they also did some pop and R&B stuff!) it doesn't mean Avril is going to rap on the whole album. Just trust the girl...she knows what she's doing. Actually it might sound really good - Pop/rock records with urban beat and production.
By the way Alex/The Runners/Pharrell > generic producers like Dr. Luke and Max Martin.
