Sorry, guys. I'm one of the 95% of the general public that can't stand Nickelback. Like everyone else, my dislike stems from Chad Kroeger's voice (which sounds like watered-down Metallica). That and the fact that Nickelback rip themselves off on every album, and the fact that they're in the same league as other intolerable "rock" bands like Creed, Daughtry, and Seether.
However, I NEVER really liked Our Lady Peace for that matter. And I was initially worried when I had heard that Avril was collaborating with Raine Maida on UMS. Yet, as it ended up, UMS didn't really sound like an OLP album. Rather, UMS sounded like an off-shoot of Losing Grip and Unwanted.
My point is that I'm going to give Avril the benefit of the doubt on this one. I'm sure she won't record a duet with Chad Kroeger, as the combination of their voices would sound very awkward. Like my earliest reservations prior to UMS, I'm going to presume that Avril's work with Chad Kroeger will end up with a sound that's more Avril-y and not at all Nickelback-y.

OK. If 95% of the population actually hated nickelback, there's no way they'd be as successful as they are today. Their music is catchy and gets stuck in your head, no one can deny that they haven't had a nickelback song stuck in their head at least 100 times in the last decade.
