Avril Lavigne; cutie or rockbitch?
Avril Lavigne has a new album out and we now that now! The rockchick packed her suitcase and travels over the whole world. Of course she didn't forget our country!
You're on tour now. What do you always bring on tour?
If I'm on tour, I always bring my camera. And of course my telephone, because I won't see my family and friends for a while. Also have an acoustic guitar and keyboard in my hotelroom. On the bus I like to take my own blanket. At least I feel a little at home then.
What do you think it's most fun of touring?
I do a lot of photoshoots and travel from place to place to promote my new record. But the most fun is performing on stage and to be with my fans. Before I went on tour, I was in the studio a lot to work on my clothing line. That's why I love to go out now.
You play a lot of new songs from you're album. What's the message?
My new album is about life, changes and growing. And also about closing a chapter of you're life and starting a new one. The most personal number is Goodbye, it's the most vulnerable I've ever wrote.
Where you into music as a child?
In the past I stood singing with my hairbrush in front of the mirror. I pretend to be on television. I also did fake interviews. I loved Alanis Morisette, she was my inspiration. I also listened to bands, like Green Day.
We can hear you in the song "Cheers" from Rihanna. How did you like that?
I love "Cheers (Drink To That)". It's a partysong. The song is awesome and Rihanna is really cool. I loved that she used I'm With You, because that's one of my favorites. To hear it, 10 years later on the radio, is really awesome.
Concert review
Rockchick - On september 13 Avril Lavigne performed in de Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam. Old and new songs passed. This rockchick is no entertainer like Katy Perry or Britney Spears. No dressing up party's or spectaculair dansmoves. Avril sings her songs and she does it good! And like a real rockchick, she also played the guitar.
Goosebumps - When Avril sung the song 'Sk8er Boi' the audience went crazy. On the chorus everyone was jumping. The floor from the Heineken Music Hall was shaking! But the real moment of goosebumps was when Avril sung the sensitive song 'I'm With You'. The whole audience sung the chorus. You could see Avril really liked that, because she held her sparkling microphone to the audience.
Dancemoves - Avril ended her show with Complicated, her first hitsong. Also on this song no complicated dancemoves. But she did show her move, because she left the stage doing a cartwheels.
