But seriously, Av usually arrives ahead of time to get enough sleep and rehearse enough for live performances, but apparently not this time. Even though she had two tapings scheduled for the same morning (both GMA and BMB were done Tuesday AM). I don't know about BM Buzz, but for the GMA's she had the words to all three songs on cheat-sheets on the floor. You can see them and how her eyes during WTH kept going to the floor to read them. It's her only hit off GL and she used to sing it twice every night early on in the BS Tour, but she doesn't recall the words.

If the reason she did not plan ahead to sleep and rehearse enough, was because her recording sessions in LA ran late... because either The Runners only had that time available, or their recording sessions were so hot she just almost couldn't stop... and the results are delivered in spades on the next album... then who am I to complain.

And if you were like me and defended her you were called an idiot suck-up. Now the blast has gone 180 degrees the other way. If the ruling Avril Thought Police catch wind of a word of criticism not just about her, but a performance, you're called a hater, a traitor, to get lost, to stfu.

Fanatic (definition) 1. extremist: a holder of extreme or irrational enthusiasms or beliefs, especially in religion or politics 2. fan of something: somebody who is very enthusiastic about a pastime or hobby... an admirer, a follower, but a person with a brain that can and does think for him or herself.

TBDT is mostly hated on around here and GL is loved. If you hate TBDT, are you then an Avril hater? Maybe most of bandaids will hate the next album and I will love it. Does that mean you will be the hater then (again)? I can't stand GL, but I have kept Avril-Media floating on, pretty much all by myself all this year. Because I am still fan of Avril. Just not of everything she does. She is not perfect. And neither am I.

You can still call me a hater, tell me to 'stfu,' like always. I would say and have: 'Don't Tell Me.' But I ain't Av. I'm not worthy. So I won't tell you what or what not to do or think or say. Or how! I welcome debate and discussion. But if you don't, just try and shut me up. (Only I can do that. Or Lady Death.)

To be honest I don't get all the hate on these last performances. I'm not a blind fan, there are a lot of things that Avril has done and which I didn't agree with at all, and a lot of performances that I thought sounded awful, but the GMA and BMB ones did not sound bad at all to me. Not her best performances ever for sure, but not bad either.

Not a fan of What The Hell but this performance was really good compared to what she has done before (for example her performance at Les Victoires de la Musique in France, which was terrible).

Honestly I'm always the first to admit when she does a bad performance and I'm never trying to find her an excuse, but I really don't see what was wrong with these videos (apart from the low volume of her mic).

Some kinda/sorta almost famous-type old dead white guy once said (I think?) "I may not agree with what you have to say but I will defend to the death your right to say it" or, you know, something along those lines .

gr8erboi, as always, here makes a passioned and reasoned appeal to and about passion and reason. The best elements of the forums here (or anywhere) provide room/thought/encourgement for debate and a diversity of opinions. When that is lost, we all lose .

gr8erboi and I have often agreed to disagree, as I have as well with other members here when our perceptions differ.

We should be mindful of the sense of community this and other sites like Avril-Media.com have fostered in our various and differing loves for Avril. Respectful disagreement, perhaps sometimes playfully so, should be the goal of all educated, concerned, and considerate members. Childish animosities only make us all look childish. So please people, no more STFU's to anyone on the public boards. Find a reasoned approach to defending your points of view, encourage free debate, repect a difference of opinion, and perhaps even experiment with understanding differing points of view. This will enrich the Avril experience for everyone.

All that said, here's two last things, Happy Thanksgiving and Rock On, Av!

I don't think she sounded particularly bad but it does annoy me that we all know she could perform it 10x better. Shes got such a good voice when she wants to sing properly and I really cant understand why we dont hear it more often. And agreed with whoever said she should be singing the album version - the acoustic is pretty boring whereas the album version has a catchy little beat to it

Dirty Mouthy's Corner (just some crazy-bitch diva-move of a whine -- so move along, nothing to see here) ......... Avril pulled an Avril (again) AKA Wish You Were Here Week Is Weak ..... As at GMA earlier that same morning, at BMB Avril is still looking down at her cheat-sheet on the floor for the words to WYWH. But I guess she has done WTH so many times by now, her heavily-relied-on-cheat-sheet perf of WTH at GMA was enough of a live reheasal that she felt comfortable to fly solo this time, thus the shades here..... I don't care about GL so I don't care that Av was not rehearsed, and ragged at times during her performance at GMA that morning. I do like WTH but I much prefer the rock version, so WTH (I am waiting for the really good ones er the new album er am I?). But I must say I don't care for her crazy-bitch diva-move to complain to Twitter pre-GMA about having only got two hours sleep. Which actually I would not care about except that unlike Avril, GMA came prepared, having read her Twitter, they asked her about it. Av should have brushed it off, like oh I was just being a baby for a second, I am more than ready to roll. But oh no she had to compound it by making excuses to GMA. Bad job by her not to rehearse when she needed it, and not gettting enough needed sleep, but even worse to whine about it on Twitter, and then on US network TV. L.A. Reid must be so proud. Like if I am heading into work, I am going to bitch about a lack of sleep on social media under my own name where my boss can read it, and then when I get to work, whine some more about it to everyone there. As if. It's unprofessional. Not that anyone would ever accuse Av of being professional. JK But to quote her, she can do better. And to paraphrase Tom Hanks in 'A League of Their Own,' there's no crying in rock n roll! (Like there's no crying about Avril anymore at Bandaids or you will be told to stfu so I better!) .....Maybe Av's head is not in the game because in her mind she has already moved on from the epic fail of GL. I mean, according to this week's world charts, since WYWH was released as a single, it has only charted in one country, her old homeland of Canada. There it spent two weeks in the Top 100, peaking at #64, and then disappeared. And that was two weeks ago! WYWH BTW is not currently on the US iTunes Top 100. The WYWH's week of promo is no-go. If as some say GL was an epic fail, WYWH must be the mother-of-all-cluster-fucking fails. Too early to call it? Could AB pull a GF-like magic-reload-trick with the vid of her ragged performance at GMA? Could it go ultra-viral-hysterical and somehow bring her ragged glory on the charts next month? To quote Firesign Theatre, 'all I know is everything you know is wrong.' Tis the season of miracles, after all. I keed I keed...... So maybe in Av's short-sleep dreams she's on to the new album and next era. She is too busy thinking about rocking and ruling the world again. I know I am. Llike Martha Stewart says, 'it's a good thing.' So can I get you a little head cheese with that whine, Ms. Best Damn Thing? (OK OK. I stfu again now.)
