Definitely a pre-recorded live version. I watched it on TV, the mic was no where near her mouth when the song started with, "I can be tough." She knew she fucked up and you could see the embarrassment in her face, but she kept it professional.

Nope, not a "lip syncer, just like Ashlee Simpson".. One performance in thousands over 10 years is not even close to Ashlee Simpson or all the artists who lip every performance not because they have to for technical reasons, but because they have no talent.

Avril is an incredible singer and has an amazing voice and has proven that over and over - even just on Tuesday and Wednesday.

I'm proud of her for that and every fan has every reason to be.

Do you remember how Avril attacked Ashlee after she was caught lip syncing. It was just that one performance why everybody was attacing her.

So even the last thing that made different and gave her identity is gone. There's no excuse. She shouldn't have gone there at all if she wasn't allowed to sing live.

Her fans were so proud of her because she wouldn't lip sync no matter what the situation was. It was a promise she made to her fans. Now that part of her identity is lost. Never again can her fans be proud of her because she never lip syncs. Never.

Yes, and I think she probably regretted. If some of her fans are taking this like the end of world, just imagine what haters or some critics would say. Saying like she's "like Ashley Simpson" is taking things way out of proportion, but as I said when it was announced she would be there, it would have been better if she hasn't done that because that's the only thing people can't criticize. Now, even this is the first and, I'm sure, the only time she will ever do that, people can bash her because of that. This a situation could have been avoided by not going there or trying to, at least, sing live; she has already used instrumental backing track before, and as long as she sings live it's not a bad solution.

Seeing how she looks embarrassed, I hope she never does this kind of things again, the "promotion" she could have got due to being there doesn't compensate the bad image that not singing live she surely has got. It's not like she has many things that can't be criticized on her...

EVERYONE lip-syncs at the Macy's Parade. EVERYONE knows that. If a critic bashed her for it, everyone would laugh, since its common knowledge that everyone lipsyncs at the event! Everyone know Avril can sing anyways. Ashlee Simpson got heck on SNL since; you are supossed to sing live on SNL, and she was an up and coming artist and many questioned if she could sing.

Honestly, it was promo, she took it, and the iTunes chart rised. We should be happy she took part of an NYC tradition and we should be happy that this beautiful song is being shared with many people!

At least she bothered to pre-record a "live" version instead of just lip-synching to the original. The only thing that makes it obvious is the "I wish you were here" part of the chorus and that it sounds like they edited it a bit. But it was such a short performance that I actually didn't even notice it was pre-recorded until the 2nd or 3rd time watching it. The song was only 1 minute- it's not a big deal that she lip-synched (and it was still a "live" version anyway).
