None of my friends loves Avril, especially not as much as I do.
I don't really care though. I do keep listening to Avril, posting pics or wearing her clothes no matter if my friends like it or not.
I'd never force them to like Avril though! Its like I cant force anyone to become a vegetarian like me, lol. When I meet someone who likes her as well, it's pretty cool, if they don't...I can't really change it if they don't wanna...

I'm a closeted fan so not really. I brought up the subject of her once to see what people thought and maybe try encourage them from there, but one of my friends just said "You know she's about forty now?" I didn't know how to tell her she was wrong without risking ruining my disguise as a non-fan so I just said "Oh...Really...Weird. I thought she was a teenager when she started out though, and that was what, ten years ago..." and my friend told me "Oh, no. She was well into her twenties when she did sk8er boi and all that, she's in her forties now."


I didn't bring it up again, lest my frustration at their ignorance cause me to reveal the suspiciously fan-like extent of my knowledge.

I have convinced a lot of friends to love Avril! And with the release of Smile and Wish You Were Here, it got so much easier!! All of my classmates love her, except for a couple of haters... but I am proud that I added many Little Black Stars to the family.
But, of course, I'm still the hugest fan between them. The teacher in class woud say: "What the hell!" and all eyes start to stare at me! LOL

Since 2003 I made my grandma love her She's 70 now and still remembers her perfectly well. She refers to Avril as " the skinny girl with the big voice". Other than that, I haven't talked about Avril to anybody else.

It's alright. I'm a bit of a closeted fan as well. Not so much as I don't want to be made fun of, but because I don't really see the point in bringing her up all the time. Sure, I'll play her in the car when I'm driving around with friends, but I don't bring her up a lot. Only one of my friends knows how much I like her. The others, I get the sense that they know I like her a little and I think some of them like her too, but we don't talk about her. I have to admit, though, it was a lot easier to like her about 8 years ago.

I would never force someone to like her or her music. You can play a couple songs for them that you think they might like based on what kind of music they like, but if they don't like it, just leave them be. No one is forcing us to listen to Katy Perry or Rihanna. I'll listen to it on my own, thank you.

After hearing Girlfriend and WTH, one of my friends thinks that Avril is nothing more than an auto-tuned pop extravaganza, which makes her original tomboy image a joke.

I have few friends who dislike Avril so much that they are forcing me to dislike her, They also keep telling me to listen to Katy Perry and PINK!

Which is sucks because I rarely mention Avril to them...Nor I am not forcing them to like her.

But they have some stupid logic such as " Oh we are doing these for your own good, we don't want your mind and great musical taste to be polluted with horrid music like Avril Lavigne "

They are the one who always bring Avril into conversation, mostly negative, paparazzi rumors

It pissed me off that one time i told one of them to shut up and that she is jealous because Avril looks younger than her.

Some friends I don't mention her at all , others I do .
One friend I asked him to watch the " He Wasn't "
video with me and a few other people and he made fun
of it through the whole thing . I'll never do that again with him .
I learned through experience who doesn't mind me mentioning her
and who does.
