Making others love Avril :)

Hey everyone! So I just wanted too say that I actually got some of my friends to love Avril! Because what I noticed is alot of people are posting the lyrics to the song Wish You Were Here and saying they love the song. Plus I'm working with four other people for a Spanish project where we have to re-write a song (Thanks again for helping me Annie )and make a music video for it about Coganates. Well I convinced my group to do Girlfriend and now they are hooked on the song! They actually commented about how creepy it is that they love the song so much! So have you helped your friends or anyone else love Avril??

Not really. One of my best friends is one of those "I used to like Avril, but she changed" people. I burned her a copy of Goodbye Lullaby and she listened to it a little bit, but she isn't a huge fan. But she goes through listening phases and she'll put it on every once in a while. I think she generally doesn't get interested in her music until she can connect with it. For example, she got into Stop Standing There when she could relate to it. But she'e still not a huge fan. She mostly pokes fun at me for loving her so much.

^ My friends poke me SO much about liking Avril! They always are like "Why do you like her? She's so autotuned!". And I'm like "You obvioulsy don't know what you're talking about. That crap called Ke$ha and Katy Perry are autotuned." And recently one of my friends called Avril slutty

I played WYWH for my roommate on my guitar and she really loved it and didn't realize it was Avril until I told her, figuring she didn't listen to her, but she said she used to like her older stuff and WYG, so I guess she stopped caring when TBDT came out, but I mentioned she had a new album out. Unfortunately, fans who were turned off by TBDT that had the potential to come back for GL had to wait way too long and by that time had forgotten about her.

One of my friends likes some of her singles, but other than that no one I know likes Avril. Some mainly like her singles or her earlier albums, but most people forgot about her because she was absent for 4 years.

Let me put it this way: In the amount of time it took her to release GL, I went through my entire high school career.

Of my friends only a few like her songs. One of my close friends and I recently
went to Las Vegas together and in a pub we had a talk about her and he says
he'll never listen to her songs. And I asked why and he said " I'm Avril'd out !"
I'm like " What ?" And he explained because I talk about her too much he's sick
of hearing about her. But after explaining why I love her , he changed his attitude.
Now I think he might give her a chance. I know he wouldn't like a song like Sk8er boi
but she has so many different songs that are good , I know I could find one or more
that he likes, although I haven't had the chance yet since he lives so far away from me. He lives in Ontario where I'm from . He actually was going to drive me to Napanee
when I couldn't get a ride there until my brother came through and took me. I kinda wish he would have gone with me . But it turned out my brother had a great time and he likes her somewhat now too .

Many of my friends love Avril, they have been there since day 1, and they want to beat the shit out of me with my critical nature towards her lol!

Although i have very few friends who doesn't like Avril, and almost all of them are women.

I really like discussing her with friends and I have actually made two of my friends fall for her songs At first they didn't listen to her that much and teased her in front of me (I was so stupid at that time I even got mad with them), then slowly under my influence they love her songs!! One of them is using Wish You Were Here as ringtone and they really like Losing Grip and other songs. One of them bought Let Go and the other one even have Let Go, Under My Skin, My Happy Ending single and Goodbye Lullaby!

Also many schoolmates that are around my ages are always sharing the music video of Wish You Were Here on Facebook, I guess because the song really relates to teenagers, and I know there's a guy in my school is a huge fan of Avril, I have seen photos of his collection before. Anyways I don't know him but it's glad to know there're lots of Avril fans in my school !!

I have like 100+ friends liked Avril Lavigne's page on Facebook which is already a lot whereas popstars Katy Perry, Lady GaGa, Rihanna, Britney Spears, Ke$ha, they all didn't get that much likes from friends I know.

There was also some kind of carnival at my school in November, and I was one of the DJ who was responsible to play songs and many people came by and asked if we could play some Avril songs like What the Hell, Together and I was so surprised haha.

I don't try to force anyone to really like Avril. Can't help that they don't like her. Though, I did get one of my friends liking Avril just a little bit. He's not a huge fan but I think he likes My Happy Ending since he sometimes posts "so much for my happy ending" on facebook a lot LOL. My dad is the one who got me into her when I was younger. Playing Sk8er Boi and... some other song... it's one of the songs on UMS... I think... I forgot. It's a song I don't like. Hmmm... back in middle school, 2 of my friends obsessed over complicated. I remember that. My friends are generally just casual Avril listeners. I have been to Avril's facebook page and I see that most of my friends like her... so... who knows?

Whenever I put music on with other people around, I'll play a playlist of a bunch of other popular songs and then stick in some of Avril's good but lesser-known (non-single) songs randomly throughout.

What i find annoying is my Avril friends who is a hater ( hater is a strong word, but they are really haters ) is i am not forcing them to listen to Avril, I'm not even talking about her around them....YET they bring her into the conversation and trying hard to convince me that i should stop listening to Avril because she sucks and that her loving her taints my "flawless" musical taste....

But there is these one guy who really get into my nerves, although we do share our love for hard rock, she hates Avril to death, well that's fine, but he actually thinks that Rebecca Black is far better artist, I thought he is trolling or anything, but he actually loves Rebecca Black. I am not forcing her to love Avril but come on.
