I have to say I don't really understand how the video fits with the song at all. It was a very artsy project and something very different and unexpected from her. However, it's clear it was inspired from the Vanity Fair photo shoot (not very original) and I probably would have liked it much better had she not been in her underwear for 95% of it.
Does she really have to be in lingerie for every single video now?
The crying at the end was unnecessary, I feel.
She already did the exact same thing in Wish You Were Here, which was a much better video than this one. As far as Mark Liddell's videos go, Alice and WYWH >>>>>>>> Goodbye. Sorry. It was a nice idea and very thoughtful of Avril to do for us. It was an artsy idea, especially with the Hollywood look (and LOL at people actually thinking that's her real hair

). I just felt it was very confusing and jumped from different scenes too quickly to understand the storyline (if there even is one). She looks so gorgeous she doesn't even need to be in her underwear at all! Her makeup was done really well.
Though I think the part at the end where she tore her clothes off was an excuse for her to show off her body, I think it could also be interpreted as her way of "stripping" her identity, along with the wig. All she's wearing is her underwear and a coat (obviously she can't be completely naked

)- so it's like she is showing her raw, real, true self- she has nothing to hide behind.
I still don't understand the storyline though. It was very confusing for me. She looked gorgeous in some shots, others not so much. Not my favorite video from her, but a nice idea. Does anyone else think this is the "movie" The Runners tweeted about?
