My interpretation of the video would be that Avril is doing Marilyn Monroe.
Marilyn walks into her hotel room and she's just not happy with who she is anymore, with what she had to become to please the media so she's saying one final goodbye to herself, Norma Jeane, while removing the wig as Marilyn did when she overdosed.

This is like my favorite song off the record...Thank Avril!!!
The mini-movie I guess is about the extent a girl would go for the one she loves-to retain the person in her life ...but the guy never comes and the phone scene explains it all...She realizes that all the change was not worth it and decides to let go (The wig scene...she discovers herself again...this is the real her). She slams the door to say goodbye to what she she shouldn't have hold on to...
I think in 'Push' she said it it takes two to make it work and that I guess the 'guy' didn't make enough effort!!
Haha that is my interpretation...now let me *edited for inappropriate word usage* the replay button but I was pleasantly surprised cause I didn't think of the video that way And yes, I can't understand how people find that song boring...it's her best effort till date

wow Avril is fucking hot in this video! i was never really a huge fan of this paticulair song, but i love this video!

Obviously not a hugely pro video and it doesn't fit the feel of the song for the most part, I was there wondering what she was doing rolling around elegantly like a fashion shoot to the tune of goodbye for a while, but the ending ties that together and stopped me from disregarding the whole video as vanity and LOOK HOW HOT I AM, because taking off a wig by surprise is always quite unattractive.

The look suits her well. She has porcelain skin and very well defined elegant facial structure that means she is one of the few people worthy of this sort of image and able to look stunning in it. Her face is elegant but her usual image is more cutesy so her particular type of beauty is normally drowned out.

Hopefully this will get exposure for the song. My favourite music videos of hers since Nobodys Home.

keep bitching about her been half naked! look at Britney, lady gaga etc! anyways. the way I see the video is she left her house and went into a hotel, she's getting ready for the guy and waits for him , she calls him he doesn't answer she starts crying and everything cause it's the end, it's the end, but she gets frustrated that's why she starts throwing her things, and then she's like "fuck it, I deserve better"

She always said she was going to do what she wanted to do. AT THAT TIME, she did not feel comfortable wearing basically anything but tank tops/t-shirts and jeans, so she didn't. Now she is comfortable wearing more than that, so she does.

Her message was always: "be yourself" not "do one thing and never ever change."
