I know it's stupid but there's a tiny part of me that thinks that somehow Goodbye will be a massive hit. It'll be #1 in every country for months and then Goodbye Lullaby will go to #1 too and everyone will see how awesome Avril is and then she'll be known as St. Avril and she'll have a parade and there'll be St. Avril's day.

A man can dream though...

It's interesting to read how many articles are giving publicity to this video - and treating it like it is a single.

It's like this little video is giving Goodbye Lullaby the kick we all think it deserves! And that's awesome. Even if they're not praising it to all the ins and outs.

The fact that it's not a promo single, and it was a treat for the fans - that's pretty impressive how much attention it's actually getting. And they're all noting her "mature" side.


I'm not trying to beat a dead horse when saying this, but it goes to show that she probably had a better chance of being taken more seriously/mature (like she wanted) had she not gone the WTH direction that *yes we all know* the record company purposed her to do.


Good on ya Avril! And it was one hell of a treat.

You never know too, like I totally believe it's "for the fans" and all that - but all of this seems like very *convenient* publicity. Epic may subtly be handling things in a sly manner to help her give the general audience the impression she wanted.

I know I'm beating a dead horse when saying this, but it really makes one wonder how different this albums success would've gone had she released it the way she wanted, showing the world she's not a skater girl anymore. But we won't keep going on that chat

I think you're reading far too much into that last bit.

As for the download day and what not, I personally think we should just leave it as a fan treat. I don't know why people want it released on radio or as a single because that associates this beautiful song with being a hit or a flop. I like it the way it is - a special song with an equally special video, something between Avril and her fans.
