Well, OK, I do have something on my mind....

Somebody mentioned to me today that we must remove our troops from Afghanistan,
because we shouldn't stay there when we are not wanted...

This is how I responded: "I believe that there are Afghans who DO want us to
be there...i.e. the hard-working people, the women, the children, etc., want us
to be there. It's the fucking Taliban that wants us to go, so they can take over
the place again, and continue beating their women, and keeping their children
ignorant, and under their evil control.

"In my opinion, they are total assholes, who are motivated by their own primitive
tribal loyalties, and their own outmoded chauvinistic ideas. I would like to see
our troops stay there indefinitely, no matter what the cost....because as soon as
we leave, everything will go back to the way it was; and all our soldiers who have
died, and have become crippled mentally and physically; will have done so for nothing."

I agree that they can't stay there forever....but, they should stay
until the Taliban has been brought under control. Try to put yourself
into the shoes of the Afghan women and children, who have benefited
from Nato troop presence in the country....and also into the shoes of
the relatives of those soldiers who have become casualties.

My knowledge of this is limited at best, but I do know that when I was still living in Sri Lanka and we still had all those terrorist attacks going on I DID want another country to intervene and help us out.

We did intervene in the Sri Lankan civil war 1990. But in the end the Sri Lankans had to fight for it themselves.

And I wouldn't like if some other country tries to intervene in our internal matters.

If civil unrest can be confined to any given country;
without causing difficulties for their neighbours; then,
outside intervention is not necessary; as was the case,
during your Tamil rebellion.

Regarding Afghanistan, those murderous terrorists; hiding
behind the Holy Religion of Islam; chose to launch a deadly attack
against the most powerful nation on earth. The rest is history.
