Emotional doesn't always mean matured. Well, at least it didn't in case of Goodbye Lullaby. I don't think I should expect much from her in this matter anymore.Originally Posted by Devon To view the link you have to Register

“I don’t think it’s as young,” she says of her new album, “A lot of acoustic guitars and pianos. There’s a deep message…it’s emotional, [but] it’s a good time because the album is a little more upbeat I think. It’s got some pretty crazy fun songs. It’s about living life and just like making the most of it and having a good time.”
I remember that video.
Key notes:
Not as young, acoustics & pianos, deep message, emotional.
hmm....
I still want to hear Fear from her 09 track list!!!
Then:
[but] it’s a good time because ... and having a good time.
I'm wondering how that's going to run the radio tracks??
Obviously you can tell what she worked with The runners and what she worked with David Hodges.
Oh yeah?! David who? was there for a bit as well?? Well, so on. Anybody remember his song lyric "You look better with something in your mouth" ... of course not!!!

I disagree with this, Avril is a very solid song-writer. She just needs help for more mainstream songs. Look at Goodbye Lullaby. Stop Standing There, 4 Real and Remember When are standouts IMO, and contain some very powerful lyrics. Avril doesn't need fancy metaphors and long rhyming words to have an impact, because the most important thing is that Avril delivers the lyrics in such a special way. Look at Adele, some of her lyrics are also very basic, but sometimes they're the most real and the easiest to relate to. They're simple, often catchy and if the vocals are delivered well, they form a solid well-written song. You can't deny that a song like 4 Real doesn't contain some clever, well-written lyrics.Originally Posted by Annie Was Here To view the link you have to Register

In fact, I'd go as far to say that 4 Real is one of her best songsIt's pretty different for her, and it kinda sounds like the masterpiece that is How Does It Feel.

Oh please don't compare 4 Real to How Does It Feel xD They are 2 different worlds.
She did a good job with GL, but after 15 years spending in writing you except more than ''i'm for real, are you for real''. It seems that all the work with Let Go songwrites has been erased.
Still can't find any basic lyrics from Adele xD

To be honest, I think Adele is overrated, and 19 is much better than 21.

To be honest, I don''t really prefer Avril's literal lyrics in LG and some UMS, because that is my taste.
She's more capable of writing those elaborate lyrics, but the thing is it's her style of writing.
for example, i don't like my world, mobile, etc because the lyrics are to literal.
I want something to keep me guessing.
Thats why Adele never captured my heart and attention, her lyrics for me is to literal, her music, is stale in my opinion.

Adele is not overrated.
She's got an amazing voice and makes songs wich are enjoyable for people of every age.
Apart from that, Adele has got a very sweet and fun personality.

Yes, it's based on taste, but i was talking about another thing: there are so many words, many sentences, expressions, clever rhymes used in that album (and even in the b-sides) which she didin't save in her mind.Originally Posted by avrilxxx15 To view the link you have to Register
What i was trying to say is when you work with people, you learn something, something that will stay forerever in you. It's a shame that it didin't happen, imagine if it did..nobody would say that her lyrics are basic and juvenile.
