What I am talking about is what she did after that? instead of heading out in studio immediately, she do modeling,voice over, acting, etc, Nothing wrong with other interest unless it's getting in her way making music, and during that time, it did get in her way and it made the wait for like 3 years instead of 2.
Her last single from UMS was released in 2005. Keep Holding On was then released December 2006. That's a remarkably short time taking into consideration the movies, modelling and honeymoon.
In any case it clearly didn't affect her career, so your point doesn't really stand.

But she still took 3 years to release the album,. which is long considering there's no delay or record label drama.
Whatever it is ( except for her marriage and honeymoon ) there's no excuse whatsoever that she took that long to make or even release TBDT, She still wasted a lot of time.

But it's not that long hiatus, Bonez Tour finished in the end of September, she relaxed a little, then she did other things(movies, modeling) and wrote a movie soundtrack and album.
It's not that long compared to 2009-2010 hiatus.
We can't complain, Christina Aguilera has 3 careers years more than Avril and she released 4 albums(not including the Christmase one and Spanish one) Justin Timberlake released 2 and he is focusing only on movies now..
Lol, avrilxxx15, Avril's a human. Shes not here to constantly churn out albums in a timescale that fits your expectations. She needs breaks, she needs time away, everyone does. Other artists release a high-quality album every year, Rihanna for example. Thats because she has little or no hand in the writing or production of the album, she releases one, promotes it, has her break whilst the next one is being completed and then starts the cycle all over again. If Avril released an album as often as you want her to then she'd never have a break or any time off, she'd be constantly writing, promoting, touring, writing, promoting, touring. If she wants to relax a little and take a year or two off between albums (i.e the UMS-TBDT break you said about) then so what? If the album she produces at the end of it is good enough then it'll smash regardless of the break.

^ no, UMS came out in 2004 and TBDT in 2007. I love the TBDT I liked it a lot so don't care if other people did not like it or whatever
I'm tired of TBDT hate. That album has some masterpieces on it.

And come to think of it, that's a little ironic how people loved the ballads more on that album and it was meant to be upbeat....and they loved the upbeats on GL and it was meant to be slower tempo album.
Dude, Avrilxx15.... She toured in 2005, It ended in September. She took some time off. STARTED WRITING HER THE BEST DAMN THING ALBUM IN 2006! Then took some more time off. That's a lot of work. She started working on TBDT in like... what? Feb of 2006?
