I can totally understand if there are people who think that the German language sounds strange (I think languages from Eastern European countries sound reaaaaaally strange) and is difficult to learn. Sometimes I don't even understand the grammar stuff although it's my mother tounge. To me Spanish is the most beautiful language. I love how it sounds and also love to speak it. Actually, I always get compliments for my pronunciation

As there are already so many German music vids posted in this thread I just post another one. I'm not a fan of German speaking music but I really love this one. This guy is a real poet, he has great lyrics. And people from abroad also always say they love it when hearing it, so I just post it here

Oh yes, I know Heintje's song, "Mama". That was his biggest hit in the 1960's.

I like Clueso. Nice voice and style.

I learned also a lot of Hungarian, when I worked with the Donauschwaben Schneidermeister.

Check this out, for a strange language:

Regarding GEMA, I know all about that, because I have made several German friends here on Bandaids...and it is always the same story. I really feel sorry for you people.

One thing I don't understand, is that people from Romania, or other European countries don't have the same problem. I only hear about the inaccessibility of videos in Germany. It is very confusing for me.

Here is one fellow, with an interesting story: Joachim Fritz Krauledat

    Quote:
In the Evacuation of East Prussia in early 1945, in harsh winter conditions, his mother first had to flee with the baby boy from the advancing Soviet troops. In 1948, the two also fled from Arnstadt in the East German Soviet occupation zone to resettle in Hanover... his family moved to Canada in 1958.
    Wikipedia

He became famous over here as "John Kay"...and his band was called Steppenwolf.

    Here are two of his big hits;

I really hope this is available for viewing in Germany!

I'm very sorry.. both are not available -.-
I hate this, I really hate this (I hope the word hate is now okay in this context)

The reason why GEMA banned the music only for German user is that youtube (I think it was youtubes fail) hasn't paid for the music rights and now they banned every video with copyright music...GEMA is a German company and they have the rights to ban the vidoes for us.
Some German user try to cheat and upload songs with other titel or change the sound a little bit...But the GEMA isn't stupid and sometimes they banned live versions of songs, that makes me very angry.

Thank you for the songs. I try to find a video with this band which isn't banned in Germany...
I have a reason to live.I guess you know this reason and it's not Avril. The reason which I mean is to change the world with my music.Every day I try to show the world the real rock music.Everybody can change something in this world without any special skills.Let's start to rock \m/

Hahaha! The word, "Hate" is perfect in this particular context.

I feel very very sorry for all the young Germans especially, who are unable to
listen to music on youtube because of this stupidity.

Is there nothing that can be done to fix this? Surely, there must be a way!

Their education, concerning the history of Rock Music, is being fatally compromised.

Maybe send an email to the Chancellor. What have you got to lose?

....at least you can go here to listen to some song clips:

ooh yeah Swissgerman uuhm... no, honestly I don't understand that much of this audio. Wow that's pretty hard I only understand "Morgenstreich... kalte Nacht, die Stadt wird auf einmal finster, steigt auf eine kalte Macht... der Mond am Himmel wird ganz bleich... geheimnisvolle Kraft... kulinarisch Amt (I have absolutely no idea what this means)". Do you know what this is about? I guess it's a poem?

I like Swissgerman, talking to people from Switzerland is always fun and usually it's not that hard for me to understand it, at least when I'm talking to younger people. But it sounds very different from German and their "ch's" and "r's" are very extreme

    Ha Ha...you did very well.....

Quote: "The carnival or Fasnacht of Basel in Switzerland starts on a Monday morning (after Ash Wednesday) with the Morgestraich. With the word Morgestraich, the Swiss locals mean the spectacular morning parade that marks the beginning of their carnival. At exactly 4:00 am, all the lights in the city of Basel are turned off and the small carnival formations, called the cliques, start playing their high-toned piccolo flutes along with their drums. This marks the beginning of the three days or 72 hours of carnival, which takes places all around the city of Basel and ends precisely on Thursday at 4:00 am."

I have a vinyl LP of the parade and speeches/poems...that's where I got that audio clip.

I worked for a number of years with a fellow from Wien. That's where I learned, "Haus und Hof Trottel". They are not quite so hard to understand as the Swiss, though....I love the ironic sense of humour of people from Wien. It was fun working in the same establishment with him...

Spanish. Or a very very dirty french accent.

I wonder if any of you who like Spanish has ever heard someone from Spain, specifically from Castile or Madrid. It sounds really different from South American Spanish, and I'd like to know what you think about it. Personally, I'd go for Latin too.

I also like the sound of British English, French and German. Poetry in Italian is also really beautiful, and I've never heard Welsh or Gaelic, but I'd bet I'd like it for the things I've read. Oh, and Portuguese; it's one of the most musical languages I've ever heard, full of soft sounds that melt into each other
