^^^ Isn't a 'pop tart' something that one has for breakfast?
I think Avril should be referred to as a 'Rocker Chick'.

Valid points.
I don't think she was publicized enough when she came out. It was just a song from a teen that had attitude when she hit the music scene with Complicated.
"It's all fun and games till one of you gets my foot up your ass"
Peace Out

the word mother fucker have no age requirement
Young, teens and old people say it. Everyone has the right to say that word, specially if the situation calls for it.

Hey guys. I just want to lastly confess that I had had hidden intentions when I created this thread.Originally Posted by Katyy To view the link you have to Register
I'm a member of a U2 fansite called Interference, and I spend as much time there as I do on Bandaids.
I discovered that U2 fans tend to go on and on about Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, and Taylor Swift.

In contrast, whenever there's a thread regarding Avril, the conversations take on an entirely different tone.
It turns out that these same U2 fans either are apathetic towards Avril or have unflattering things to say about her.

These unbalanced discussions led me to the conclusion that Avril is less respected than her female pop contemporaries.

so, a 10 year old going around saying that is okay? And I do say fuck in various forms (I am guilty of that), but I know better when to say it. Even if in situations it may seem right, it's never really called for. Classiness?

Kids here say "Mother fucker" in our native language ( not exactly the same translation but in terms of usage and delivery ), and they do it a lot! and they are under 10, So kinda agree with you regarding this.Originally Posted by Black Star* To view the link you have to Register

I'm sure there's kids cussing all over the world, but it's still pretty shocking to me.Originally Posted by avrilxxx15 To view the link you have to Register

I think when you're the baby in the family like I am, parents give up parenting and just leave you to it when it comes to profanity...and many other things.Originally Posted by Black Star* To view the link you have to Register

I understand what you mean but I think a lot of it is because people don't like to see people being succesful or doing well so they'll start nit picking at tiny things.
And I think maybe because she's changed her image so much (which I love) but because she went from the gothic style in UMS to more "pop" in TBDT people maybe don't know where to place her - cos I think that people have to find a label for somebody like "oh your're pop or punk or rock" and if they can't do that like maybe with Avril they'll just decide not to like her.
I know that a lot of people stopped being her fan or grew out of her and then started hating on her but that's just cos I think they grew up in a different direction than maybe she did
