I don't see a mistake. I've enjoyed the changes she's made over the years. And I'm glad she made TBDT. If we could go back 5 years I would be all for her doing it again.

I do enjoy that era and that album, my point is, the damaged it did in the long run, If i could go back 5 or even 8 years ago, I will tell her not to do it, If she still not convince then i will show her what she become during 2007-until now, I bet the 2002-2004 Avril will throw up and puke after seeing it, I am not saying that the new Avril is bad, that the whole TBDT era album suck, I dont hate it, I love it, My point is, The long term damage it did is not all worth all the trouble.

And it's hard for me to say it about that album, because I love it,It's just we know what it did to her.

If she didin't say anything like Britney, Beyoncè, Christina, Taylor did, Avril would still have her first fan-base, that was the main problem. Her first fans were amazed only by her words, the music was the second place.

By the way, the BIG change was from LG to UMS, during that era she changed so much: blonde hair, skirts, dresses, heels, fashion...

Her 2nd wave of fans, I mean those from TBDT are much from loyal, they are in for the music, look at the majority of her fanbase in Europe, UK and North America, most of them are from the TBDT era, while those from LG and UMS are very few, like Zach, Sharifa, Georgie, Francy, Beachdan, etc.

All pop stars did said something that contradicted their values break their own rule, The thing is it's the image,

IF we take a look closely, Avril's biggest drastic change is her apperance and image, but her values and behavior, she stayed the same or even improved in some or many aspect, it's just the image

IF the TBDT have different image, like those from Sk8r Boi or He Wasn't but the theme and songs are just the same,If there areno dancers her former fans would not left her.

Yeah, most of those who left her during TBDT left her because of the image/appearance more than the music it self, The image made people overlooked the improvement she have when it comes to lyrics department, even her bratty funny songs have witty creative lyrics on it.

The Best Damn Thing didn't damage anything. It saved her from becoming irrelevant back in 2007. She had a 3 year gap between albums, and probably would have faced a similar era to GL if she didn't make changes. You say "What it did to her" and "the long term damage". Can you please explain exactly what you're talking about? She got one of her biggest hits, and relaunched her brand/career that was starting to stall after Under My Skin.

I can't for the life of me figure out why it's UMS that is the album and people (mainly the fans) hold it on such a high pedestal. And TBDT is the down fall. It's "Avril's most immature album" when it's the major UMS people that can't get passed her "UMS angsty teen phase". TBDT didn't ruin anything! It actually launched her and helped her! I loved Avril even more because of TBDT. I love Avril's fun "immature" and "bratty" side.

I'm sick of hearing people *cough*avrilxxx15 *cough* saying that they want what's best for Avril. Were you there for Avril at the start of her career? Do you get her career going? Avril's been doing this for 10 years. I'm pretty sure she knows what's best for her own career. Why can't she do what she want without people bitching? If people don't listen to the music she puts out, then that's there business.Not Avril's.....

For me the UMS era is perfect, the album, photoshoot and the live shows where amazing. I also love TBDT era and the album.
