SOTW#7 - The Poll

1. Just because someone spent time on something does not mean they are exempt from criticsm. By that logic constructive criticism shouldn't be allowed in any circumstance. We are not small children. If someone is such a frail and delicate petal they cannot handle being told their outer glow is too thick, they should not enter contests.
2. I never said people should never use pictures, I said not using pictures is a helpful tactic in doing something more original and getting yourself to think outside the formulaeic blend box. This does not mean I must now like every single pictureless signature or else I am a hypocrite.
3. The reason I always have something to complain about is because the old cliche is true and nothing is perfect. It is not a personal attack on the creators and I am not pissed off with them for not being "perfect professional" designers. This is constructive criticism. It is a completely different idea to personal insults and bullying, yet they seemed to be blurred together into one entity in some peoples minds.

You make some valid points- of course there are improvements that could be made to everyone, but some people spent a lot of time on these and it never feels good to have it ripped apart. Even the ones you liked, you still found things wrong with them. I agreed with some of your points, others I felt were just nit-picking. Maybe that's why some people think your comments are harsh even though they are constructive because some of it feels like nit-picking on small things that other people don't even notice or care about. In the end, it's just a contest for fun. I entered because I like being creative but I don't have much experience making signatures and my programs are limited- a lot of these entries use Photoshop, right? I don't have that on my computer (can you download it for free for a Mac?) so I'm limited to PowerPoint.

U could try Gimp too! It's for free, a bit difficult but it's a good program to work with altough I'm not experienced in it C: just give it a try!

I suggest you to use Pixlr it's a web based photo editor which has a lot of similarities with photoshop!

I think ur signature is a rly cool idea and I liked how u played with the purple light and Avril's name C: too bad that the black star sign was too small :c
