She actually almost released an album in 2005 called Orignal Doll that all the songs were like the ones you listed above. The lead single was going to be Mona Lisa and it was rumored Someday (I Will Understand) would be the second single (After Britney confirmed that she was (very close to being) done with the album, a tracklist leaked that is most likely true because alot of the songs on that list leaked. So people assumed that Someday was the second single for some reason) but the whole album got scrapped because Jive wasn't really happy with an album like this thinking it would do poorly and she got pregnant

Yeah I know about that. Mona Lisa is a great song. Although I heard a few of the other tracks that were rumored to be on it and they were okay, but I think I'd take that In the Zone-type stuff over the electropop Femme Fatale stuff she's doing now. At least with Original Doll she was more involved in the project, actually writing and having some creative input in it. Hopefully one day she will attempt to make another album like that... and actually release it.

I'd be interested in seeing Britney release material that she had control over. However, club-y electropop is what sells these days. And for Britney, a self-owned album most likely won't be commercially successul. Worse, her label most likely will give her shit about releasing it.

^ But Britney has a really devoted fan base. I'm sure they'd buy an album of her farting. The closest she's gotten to releasing material she had more control over was Britney and In the Zone. Her involvement in her other albums is questionable. But I sure hope when she gets a few years more into her career that she'll maybe decide to take that path and release an album of real music- she wouldn't have to worry about the album not selling because A) She has enough money to never work another day in her life and B) Like I said, the hardcore fans will buy it.

Not really...

She's one of the most highest grossing female artists of all time, and she's a pop icon. She does have a right to judge if somebody is up for it. Besides, it's great having somebody with first hand experience on the show. Simon and LA know what they're talking about, but they themselves don't have first hand experience as neither are pop artists. That's what Britney's there for.

Britney was very involved with her fourth album "In The Zone". People really underestimate Britney. She co-wrote "Everytime", and she even wrote the Piano part for that song. In fact, she co-wrote a lot for that album, that was her most hands-on album.

Britney is the most understimated artist of all the time and this is also her fault, if she hadn't started focusing on elaborate coreography nobody would have said anything wrong about her. But people who judges her, don't know ANYTHING about Britney.

Come on, just read the lyrics of Everytime, Let Go, Just Yesterday, My Baby, Shadow, Touch Of My Hand, Everyday, Dear Diary, Let Me Be, Someday..she is very talented, i don't know if things will change with her new label, i hope so..i don't mind if she doesn't wrote all her song, the only thing i really care is HER VOICE. I like Blackout much more than FF only because there's not much autuned, and you can hear her tone of voice(Break The Ice, Get Naked, Why Should I Be Sad). She can do electro-pop, she can do every genre, but please don't touch her voice ç___ç

I wish Avril fans defend and stand up for her like what they are doing for Britney at this thread. Which I find kinda funny because most of us here can't even do the same for Avril.

I am not saying they should just trash Britney that is not right.

Both criticism and praise towards Britney on this thread have great points and very interesting to read.

But I always have a feeling that we, Avril fans have to appease other artist and their fanbases, Like trying to be the the mature better fanbase ( Which is ass kissing in my opinion ) While other fanbases keep trashing Avril.

I mean, it's like that we are so afraid and not allowed to occasionally criticize and talk about that way towards other artist, when someone do, we are so quick to defend.

But if it's Avril who is getting the same treatment,God forbid. It's like it's very acceptable, and even "smart" think to do to just keep nitpicking on her.

On the other hand, I think they choose for the sake of ratings, not because who is more qualified to be a judge.

So them bringing Britney on the show is the right thing to do so, As she's still considered by America as their sweet heart, Have very devoted ( and most faithful ) fans out there.

In that case, they made the right choice.
