Many times the winners win because of popularity. If Avril becomes insanely popular again, she may have a chance. I can understand her not winning, but I don't understand how she hasn't at least been nominated since LG. Not even for Girlfriend, her first #1 Billboard Hot 100 hit. UMS and TBDT also both debuted at #1 on the BB 200 chart. I don't understand what more qualifications are needed to at least be nominated, she was clearly very popular back during those years. But GL I can understand her not being nominated, that album really is not Grammy-worthy at all.

Many of the people who have beaten her out for a Grammy are very talented as well, it's not like some shit song/artist won over her. For example, I'm With You was beaten by "Dance With My Father" by Luther Vandross and "Beautiful" by Christina Aguilera. She was up there with the best of them, that's nothing to sneeze at. I'm sure it's not as big of a deal to her as it is to the fans anyway, she's probably perfectly content with just being nominated.

If Chris Brown won but Avril did not, let's not hope that much, lets just watch that show sink in deeper as it become a joke to many people.
