Do you think Avril will ever release an Alternative Rock album again?

Let Go and UMS is in the vein of Alternative Rock. Though they were classified in a whole lot more genres but it was considered Alt Rock. And the songs are in the vein of that genre. I think Avril's next album may be the same considering Let Go is a heavy-guitar laden album while UMS is a heavy-piano laden album and Avril said that the next album would have a lot of guitars and pianos but it's upbeat. Unlike other's idea on 5th album that it will be like GL upbeat 2.0, my idea is that its an LG + UMS type of album.

She's under a mainstream label and she's still a pop artist, so I would say no anytime soon

Honestly, I think she just made music. I don't think she ever really went in a particular genre direction ever. Sure every album had the same vibe to it but only because of her feelings at the time. I think we should just expect music from Avril and that's that.

Wouldn`t label them as alternative rock but if you`re asking for another LG/UMS type of album... FUCK YEAH for sure! A mix of both would be PERFECT!

I'd love it, but I don't think it will happen. I just don't think she has that mindset anymore, which is fine. She is an evolving artist.
That being said, I would be ecstatic if she did release an alt rock inspired album.

when are people going to stop being stuck in the UMS era and understand that an artist evolves ? it is not the fans to ask to the artist what he has to do but the artist to propose what he feels the most close to his personnality at a certain time.

Avril stayed and will remain herself and authentic. Whatever she does she accomplishes it well and it ALWAYS has this magic we love and. that only she can put in her work.

She has made two others giant works since Let Go and UMS. She grew and became a very smart and respectable person in 10 years. Her work is still and even more brilliant than before.

I love ALL her albums. I think that being stuck in an era, in a style, is wrong. All the legends knew how to never give the same, they knew that being artistic is a mix between trying new things while keeping this magical receipe and talent that makes their work recognizable over the decades. That's what Avril does.

I want her to make good music and I don't particularly care what label it's given. I don't like songs because of what genre they're labeled as; I like songs based on whether I think they're good songs or not. For example, I don't generally listen to country or rap music, but there are certainly some awesome songs that I like in both genres.

I think Caleb wanted to say that LG and UMS have alt-rock elements not the full album, so that's true. I know she's gonna release some influenced alt-rock tracks

hmmm... possibly, but the entire album definitely won't be Alternative Rock since she was working with the runners.

that's no problem some bands like red hot chili peppers, nerd, gym class hero , etc have hip hop , funk, rap sounds and still are labelled as an alternative rock bands (between their main genres )
