They can call her names all they want, Although I love Alanis, I don't know if i say this, since a lot of people are going to burn me at the stake for saying this, But Avril have something, a few advantage over Alanis. But since its like a holy grail to not say something Alanis, Specially the fact that its favoring Avril, I rather not say it.

TOTALLY AGREE! There's something that Avril actually has, and Alanis doesn't. She's spontanious, and that's what we love from her. Jesus, if you'd know! Alanis next album is out on august, and all we have got is the first single. A stupid motherhood song, that is very similar to her old stuff, is kinda boring. Also, most of her fans on Am.info or any other network, are so stupíd, and boring instead. They just talk about bullshit, and meeh :S We, the little blak stars, are more dynamic in that sense, and as you said before, I love them, and support them, no matter what heters/critics/paparazzi, or radom people says 'bout them. A song about motherhood is not stupid, however if its being done all over again by the same artist, its getting stale, ( just when many artist keeps singing about gays, And I can say the same thing about Avril regarding some of her songs )

Alright then. Kelly wins. But at least we should talk about positive things about Avril especially right now with this life-or-death 5th album; if it fails, we're going down. I know fans will still be here but some of them will watch Avril as something that's not serious anymore. Maybe that's just me who wants to keep the positive talking in Bandaids but who am I to speak, I'm a 13 year old who probably knows nothing about these stuff so go ahead, fancy Adele and Kelly; I have nothing to say against it.

I have to admit that I'm a bit worried about the waves of criticisms regarding Avril over the past several months. Somehow it doesn't bode well for the upcoming (comeback?) era.

Ideally, I was hoping for waves of excitement and anticipation. But I guess it's difficult, seeing as how the GL era was crap and how Avril has changed (for better or for worse) so much.

It seems to me that certain Bandaiders are setting themselves up for disappointment. I mean- If some fans are thirsting for an "upbeat UMS" and the 5th album isn't like that, those fans may not support Avril during the next era. Likewise- If Avril doesn't quit the whole "pronunciation thing", some fans may not want to see Avril on the next tour.

Like all the other female "flop era" artists who have managed to hit back hard, Avril needs a good portion of her fanbase in order to make a formidable recovery.

Just because is so bitchy, critical and is not supportive, it doesn't mean that Avrils whole fanbase are like that. In fact, few active members here, specially the negative ones are minority.

Just because a few people here said so, it doesn't mean most of Avril fanbase and casual listeners thinks the same.

To expect so low about the 5th album,. to have some kind of "anticipation" just because GL failed so hard is very fucking stupid.

Overall, Many Avril fans here at bandaids makes me sick, and the titile " The best damn fansite" should be removed, because its a myth.

With haters, she don't need it, her fans is worst.

Yes Avril need good portion of her fanbase, and majority of it are outside bandaids, so don't worry if bandaids talk shit so much, although its grating.

You know, I remember one of your quotes in an older thread. It was something like "the 5th album will flop, but the 6th one will be THE greatest comeback for sure!", so basically you were one of the people in the "waves of criticism". GL era wasn't exactly crap; the only thing that was crap was the singles, that's all. The Black Star Tour was a success except for that US thing, Wild Rose was also awesome, the album itself was amazing... We, as fans, can say this: Who gives a shit if the album was successful or not? If we as fans like it and think it's great and know a lot of work was put in it, then it certainly wasn't crap. And how exactly did Avril change? From TBDT she went, like, back to being serious in a playful way and being happy.

I am lucky she sing very well in Manila! Even the Canadians I've talked with said that Avril's voice, energy and passion is much better than she did in Canada...

I guess Avril felt that in Manila, she is still very loved, unlike in her own country, but can I blame her? if i see half empty arena and i am an artist, i will fucking walk out in the middle of the show.

I think this might have something to do with the fact that in Cananda she was playing almost every night for a month. Maybe her and her voice couldn't couldn't cope with that kind of stamina after not doing tours for 4 years. Which may also account the "bad standard" of singing during TBST because her voice was out of practise

Here's my personal story.

A lot of Avril haters I know hate Avril mostly because "she can't sing".

For example, my mother thinks Avril is terrible singer. But my mother also thinks that Katy Perry is "like Celine Dion".

And one of my ex-friends thinks Avril "has no voice to speak of". He says that Kelly Clarkson "smokes Avril in every way". Yet, he doesn't know anything about Avril outside of Sk8er Boi. And he admits that he doesn't listen to Kelly's music.

I understand everyone's entitled to his or her own opinion. But comparing Katy to Celine is just ludicrous.

And yes, Kelly is a better singer than Avril. But how can you continually stan for Kelly if you DON'T listen to her music? And how can you shit on Avril is you only know ONE SONG?
