What the fuck happened to the Electro/DJ based music/aritst>

In the 90s and early 20s, DJs or artist/groups that have DJs on it create much creative, better music, And the diversity/creativity of the sound they make will make you think "wow, I don't expect ( put the artist name ) would make that sound" Their music video is much fun, more creative and fresh. And they also don't over use collaborations

But now? FUCK! They make the same kind of shit, same sound that its also hard to guess whose artist did it! the music video? ALL SHITTY! No innovation, nothing new, just a copy cat of each other. they often have to overused collabs

I know music is subjective, but sometimes you can't help to think and notice the obvious, I know some people will get mad at me ( I am talking about pop music purist snobs , you know you are ),

But i dare to say, Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk and Fatboy Slim are much better than David Guetta, LFMAO and Afro Jack

    Back in the days

You're just not looking hard enough. Guetta and his peers put me to sleep (with both their music and their videos), but there are plenty of other mainstream artists and producers making great songs in that genre. Diplo is the first that comes to mind. Calvin Harris would probably be a better example though.

Though I should add I always found The Chemical Brothers and all those other people you posted ridiculously annoying as well. Videos included.

    First of all.
Afrojack is amazing and has his own sound, although he is getting more to the "mainstream" house these days. BUT he is still good at what he does.
David Guetta used to be good in the early 2000's. For example his song "Love Don't Let Me Go". Now all his beats suck and sound all the same. He needs a fucking collaborate on every song of him, and if he doesn't it sounds even worse.
    LMFAO = shit.

Yes, house music was good in the 90's and early 2000's. But it was also different from what it is now. Just like the pop genre, music changes over the time. But I disagree with you that it sucks now. You are only mentioning the mainstream artists, while there are so many good house producers out there!
For example: Avicii, Afrojack, Chuckie, Hardwell, Sander van Doorn.. etc. (In my liking)

Electro/House music has many genres, just go listen to that particular genre you like.

In my opinion, house music is getting a lot better.

I know those artist you mentioned, But for some reason why is the better DJs and better house/electro music are not given much chance and airplay?

Does an artist of all genre have to make annoying music to have hits?

Well I already expect you won't like Chemical Brothers and others, since you are pop purist of modern times, So you not liking Guetta is pretty much a big surprise from you.

In a whole that genre, at least in the mainstream, area, despite its commercial success are just getting worst.

Although Calvin Harris is great at what he is doing.

Even if what you were saying is true (though yes, pop is what I play my life to ), pop and electro/dance go pretty much hand-in-hand.

Anyways, WorldofAvril said it best. Even though Guetta is ridiculously lazy and unimaginative, for the most part a lot of these modern producers really strive to stand out - which is a must nowadays for everyone. In my opinion, the reason Guetta is doing better than most is because his songs are a lot more vocal-heavy, which is a must for radio-play. They're a lot more like standard dance-pop records in that sense.

Well, here in Holland we have a lot of well known house music producers. So we get to hear their music on the radio aswell. Though not that much as artists like David Guetta. I think it's because his songs are more radio-friendly because of the singing-collaborations. His songs have a chorus and verses. Just like the LMFAO stuff. Which is more likely to be on the radio. Plus these artists are more famous, so they will obviously be on the radio, no matter how bad a song is. Popular music is not that good anyways these days.

But as I said, house music is popular here in Holland so we get to hear other and better house music more often.
