i think Avril is the only high successful artist in RCAOriginally Posted by BogoGog24 To view the link you have to Register

Kelly Clarkson and Kesha are also with RCA. Avril only had 1 really successful album with RCA, that doesn't warrant her as the "only" successful artist under them.Originally Posted by Dennis-So To view the link you have to Register

I think both RCA and Arista were/are owned by Sony BMG or something like that, so she just moved to a 'sister' record label.. I'm pretty sure Epic is also owned by Sony but I'm not a 100% on that..

In a interview i'm pretty sure she had said Arista fell apart and she just ended up at RCA. Arista was some sort of sub record label operated by RCA that is no longer a label, so naturally she went to RCA.

I wonder if there were any labels that were fighting to get her when she had to move to another label?

Maybe.. but it wasn't really like that I don't believe. Arista was essentially RCA, just a sub company or whatever from it. so it wasn't really like her move from RCA to Epic where she was actually going to a completely new label.Originally Posted by Rebel101 To view the link you have to Register

ARISTA, RCA & Epic are all Sony companies. Arista and RCA merged and Arista's name was dropped. Avril never changed record labels intentionally until she moved to Epic but even that is still owned by Sony.
So, someone said she only had 1 successful album with RCA which isn't true cause when UMS was released that's when RCA and Arista merged. So she had two really successful albums with RCA. And if you noticed, on the original back cover artwork for UMS it said Arista and when you buy UMS from a store now it says RCA

UMS was originally released under Arista. The only albums Avril did under RCA were TBDT and GL. The only reason new pressings of UMS have RCA on them is because Arista no longer exists, they simply put RCA for repressings. I wouldn't be surprised if now that she is with Epic they may do repressings with Epic instead of RCA. According to this article, RCA did not absorb Arista until 2011: To view the link you have to Register As I said once before, TBDT was Avril's one and only extremely successful record under RCA. Case closed.Originally Posted by Nick_Got_$leazy To view the link you have to Register
