    That kind of goes for 95% of trends. If you actually look at the tweets for most trends a lot of them are just spam/ads.

    Well Bandaids has a Twitter promo account with 30,000 followers for trending Avril topics. The trending topics have been like that for a while now.

    I think trending stuff for artists is quite cute haha, when something genuinely big/exciting/interesting happens the celeb-themed trends get pushed out anyway so it's not like they cause people to miss anything
