What do you think Avril excels in vocally, and what areas need improvement?

Her vocals are perfect, only improvement needed is her pronounciation of words.

It's awesome but beside she needs to improve her pronounce and make the out of of tuned less

Its not the vocals, she just needs to regain her fire and passion back.

I think she's perfect! Only the pronounciation needs improvement.![]()

When she tries her vocals are pretty much flawless. Strong, angelic and able to hit notes others can only dream of.
When she tries.
When she doesn't try so hard, her vocals can be a little bit flat and sometimes a bit shakey.

I've seen it in myself, she did try so hard on the songs she choose to, but when she is singing any songs from GL album, her vocals are sub par and in the auto pilot mode.

Strengths: More use of vibrato, more power, stronger than before
Weaknesses: Poor pronunciation, sometimes sings too loudly or over the top, needs to know how to tone it down sometimes, lack of passion in some performances, should try to sing with more passion and not worry so much about showing off vocals

She doesn't have the power vocal like a soul-lady but look at the Live at Budokan concert.
Her vocals were really perfect and powerful in their own way and some songs were on top of what the album version is.
If she is on point with passion she is definitely competent to work on her vocals well.
Apart form that, one thing I'd like to know is how many very low tones she can actually hit.

Avril Vocals are amazing and they are getting better , like many said there's some lack of passion on some songs..and that's it

Strenght: reaching high notes(Alice and Goodbye) an amazing falsetto (Everybody Hurts)
Weaknesses: only one, non able to reach that rawness and angst that her old songs require
