What is hardcore on music ?

As some of you mentioned next album is possible that it would be a hardcore rock, I've some interested on it. I did some research for ' hardcore ' this adj. After that, I have an idea that The Best Damn Thing is kinda hardcore punk. If there're mistake please fix me...

So what is the definition of ' hardcore ' ? Was Avril do it on her music career ?

After I did the research, personally I think ' hardcore rock' is an non-mainstream music. How can Avril push it pop to become popular ? I wonder she would like Linkin Park though if she walks that road ~

hahahahahahahah the best damn thing is overproduced pop with unnecessary explicit lyrics and occasional guitar riffs. it's not "hardcore punk" if she screams "die" or calls herself a "motherfucking princess". the furthest extent i'll go to is "pop rock", but it's pop. hardcore rock is the sex pistols, they pretty much established the 1970's punk movement in britain. avril doesn't even have one proper punk song, the only proper rock songs she has are "unwanted" and "forgotten".

Avril does not do hardcore rock of any kind and never has. But what Avril could do is more rock than she has done in her last two album. And If on her next album she chooses to release a a somewhat heavier rock album or at least promote a few heavier rock songs on it, I believe it would raise her iconic status to new heights.

Going forward I believe the key to Avril's continued success is for her to recognize that the rock aspects of her previous works are some of her best strengths and that she should play to her strengths, and these strengths should be reflected in her future album releases.

In rock/punk/metal music, "hardcore" basically refers to heavier, edgier and faster music.
TBDT is pop-rock/punk-pop. Here's an example of hardcore punk:

So, I don't really think Avril would venture into these heavier genres.

Agreed up untill the point where you classify the sex pistols as hardcore punk.
In the same sentence you say they established the 1970's punk movement and right
there is your answer. The Sex Pistols classify as punk, real down to earth punk.
There were no mash ups when it comes to genre in the 70s.
There was rock, pop, punk, hardcore etc. but for example no melodic death matel.
Those freaky genres were founded in the late 90s I believe if not 2000 ff. at least the
way we know it today.


when it comes to hardcore nowadays, it can be classified as the Video WorldofAvril posted
or mostly known stuff by The Gallows, Sick Of It All, Adolescents etc.




So no, whatever hardcore we are talking about I don't think Avril will ever go
into that direction. I am even hard enough to say there is no freakin chance in hell.

As for "hardcore rock" it doesnt even exist, maybe it's some form of "hard rock" music. Or post-hardcore, screamo, metalcore, popcore, emo, alt-metal for the hardcore thing
