Has an Avril song ever helped you through a tough time?

I always see comments on youtube videos and things with people saying songs have helped them through tough times and given them real inspiration.

Personally I've never really had it with an Avril song, but I have with a Snow Patrol song, 'This isn't everything you are' when I was going through a bit of a tough stretch earlier this year.



I'm sure you have your stories.

"I'm with you" was my sole companion back in the days when I was quite a loner. I remember singing it while walking alone along the street.

All of Avril's songs in Let Go helped me through my life. She taught me to be and rely on myself. (like she did to everyone else)
Whenever it's free, I will always listen to Avril Lavigne.

Not to mention the entirety of UMS was my breakup album all through high school!

Everybody Hurts and Darlin' have definitely helped me whenever I get stressed out or upset about anything.

Strangely enough, the song I detailed above helped me through surgery and then injury depression.

I'm sure mine wasn't as serious as yours though by the sound of it!

Same here. Mine was about my knee. I had 8 months of stop and I had to learn to walk again.. It was hell.

I Can Do Better can really be sung for every occasion.

If you've gotten out of a breakup: Sing it about your ex.
If you just got a job: Sing it to unemployment.
If you just moved somewhere new: Sing it to your original place
If you got straight A's for the first time: Sing it to your old report card.
If you have recently gotten into a relationship: Sing it to loneliness.

That's what I love about I Can Do Better. Because there's always something in your life that you could be doing better.
