Ok just calm down a little bit after u read that title, I'm really not going to talk about how punk is her music and I would not use punk describe her music anymore. I just think about her half hair. As you can see that almost punk hair anyway and quite many of you dun really like her new hair. do you think Avril started try to " punk wanna be " and do have any doubt after you saw this ?

We haven't heard the new album yet and although it's been described as hard rock/indie/club I'm pretty sure it could still have a punk sound to it. In my opinion that sort of sound really suits Avril's voice so why shouldn't she style herself around an image like that?
Even so, it's just a hair cut. There are guys I know with almost shaven short hair, that doesn't mean they're in the army...

It's just the fashion.
These days, we live in a "pick 'n' mix" society where people will take from loads of different trends and subcultures, recycling old ones, to make their own style, rather than being true to one. Avril's style is just generic rocker - anything studded, black, a little bit edgy. I like it and it suits her and it works well with her music (which I think also follows this "pick 'n' mix" theory).
It's postmodernism. (I was robbed of that A grade at sociology A Level!)
So no I don't think she's trying to be anything, she's just doing what most people do today.
