When news broke that Avril Lavigne and Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger are engaged, the whole world was surprised, since they’ve never been open about their relationship really. Also, when the heck did Avril stop dating Brody Jenner? With all that being said, we are so happy that Avril and Chad have found happiness together and wish them nothing but the best.
After word got out that the Canadian pop-rockers were engaged to wed, we got to thinking (after we recovered from the shock of it all) about what a great couple they make. Chad and Avril seem to have a ton of fun together, but do they get your vote for cutest couple when pitted against Lady Gaga and her super hot beau Taylor Kinney?
Here’s the basic rundown on both couples. Apparently, Avril, 27, met Chad, 37, in Feb. 2012, and they immediately fell for each other. He popped the question on Aug. 8, and we’re guessing Avril responded with an enthusiastic “YES!” This will be the ‘What the Hell’ songstress’ second marriage, and we really really hope this one works out for her (although she’s still tight with ex-hubby, Deryck Whibley of Sum 41). Just look at that photo! It’s clear our girl Avril is madly in love and having the time of her life with the Nickelback singer.
On the other hand, we’ve got Lady Gaga and her foxy man, actor Taylor Kinney. The pair met on the set of her video for ‘You and I’ (he plays the torturous lover who gets his kicks with mermaid Gaga in his farmhouse) back in late 2011, and they’ve been on and off but very hot and heavy ever since. In her latest fashion video, she actually pretend married Taylor in a ceremony far more classy than the fake weddings we used to have back when we were 6. There’s no question they’re a gorgeous couple and embrace each other’s individuality to the fullest.
