And when did City score the equalising goal??? extra time... and there celebration took forever....thats where the extra minutes came from. The board is indicated as a minimum to be added on...not a maximum...and the fact that city took 2-3 minutes with their celebration brought on the extra minutes. Those extra minutes werent for united to go score another goal...they were fair minutes which either side could have got the winning goal...there would have been nobody complaining if city had gotten the winner. If they didnt want those extra minutes, they shouldnt have celebrated for so long...simple as.

City scored in normal time.. in the 90th minute.
According the ref, the game took 55 seconds to restart after the goal...
And Man Utd scored more than 120 seconds after the end of stoppage time.

chelsea weren't lucky, they played how they had to play against bayern in front of a huge home crowd. going one down to a team like bayern so close to 90 minutes and still managing to pull it back to take it to extra time isn't luck, its still having the belief and skill to carry on and not let bayern bang a few more in whilst they were on a high. chelsea beat some amazing teams during the competition, it wasnt luck, it was knowing exactly how to play against them.

Of course they were not lucky... respect to Cech and Drogba for saving the game for them... but is that the way a top European side plays against another? Chelsea looked like a League One side throughout the game. If they have so many attacking players why do they need to go into a shell and play like that? Juan Mata and Fernando Torres are wasting their talents there...

Regardless of whether the 4th officials board went up after the goal or not... the goal was scored with 5 seconds left in the game...what was to be put on the board, had already been decided on...so the celebration for that goal was to be added onto added on time.
tip off did not resume until the 91st minute... meaning that is atleast 60 seconds to be added on. United made a subsitute in aswell... which for every subsitute by the rule book is 30 seconds extra time. That time constitutes at 1 minute and 30 seconds extra to play. Michael Owen scored 1 minute and 27 seconds after the alloted extra time. I rest my case.

Also, just the add... because my calculations are possibly 3-5 seconds off... but the rules state you do not blow the whistle whilst a team is in an attacking position... so yeah. Watch back the match of the day from that time, and im sure you'll find them discussing that this was the correct alloted time. Also after the board went up the tannoy at old trafford stated that there would be a MINIMUM of 5 minutes added on.

The ref had a chance to blow the whistle when the ball was at the half way line at 5:25 or something...

The ball was near the halfway line at 95.20 ... as far as I'm aware..since i've actually gone into the stage of researching it now... the actual minutes that should have been where 95.25, owen scored at 95.27 , at 95.25 giggs had the ball in an attacking position....case closed. Nobody would be complaining if City had got the winner... except maybe United fans who are blinded to the rule books. It all just comes back cause united got the winner. There was nothing to stop city pushing on and getting the winner in those minutes.

No but honestly everyone saw that 4 minutes were added on at 90 minutes and the goal was scored at 5:30 something...

Unless you analyse it in detail, it looks like a minute was give extra.

Yeah thats how it looks... but a real football fan should know that their celebration meant an extra minute, and the man united subsitution was an extra 30 seconds. Plus the announcer at old trafford said their would be a minimum of 5 minutes after the goal celebration as to not cause confusion.
