In a chique hotel in Paris, Avril enters .Still little as always .But in contrary to the past, we don't see a girl in jeans and sneakers.The Av has changed in a 22th year old woman, completely with high heels and neat, pink nailpolish. After last night when she gave an awesome show in a cool concertroom, she now gives the entire day interviews.Hitkrant is the only one from Holland, and of course, she loves to talk with us.About her new cd and of course about her new husband Deryck. We heard a few years nothing about you.What did you do?
'Yes, it was a bit quiet, hé.But I barely stood still actually.I think my last tour ended 1.5 years ago.Then I really had the desire to just stay at home for a while and to do nothing.'

'But I didn't hold that very long.I also made two movies and I sat approximately 6 months in the studio to record my new album "The Best Damn Thing".And between that, I also got married!'

Because last summer, you became Mrs Deryck Whibley . Did you change, now that you are a married woman?
'Well, no, I'm still the same. I really don't feel different and I'm still very young of course.That we got married, was because it felt good. It was the logic step in our relation. Sometimes, I still can hardly believe it, because it sounds heavy, being married. But I'm still the same free spirit.'

Didn't you also do modelling work the past few years?
'Well, modelling work is a big word, you know. I was registered with Ford Models and I did for them some work. Now I'm with someone else, by the way. I did a few photoshoots , showed some clothes, that kinda stuff. I thought it was funny, not more.'

Your album is called "The Best Damn Thing". What is for you the best damn thing at the moment?
'I'm especially proud of my new album. The last album that I made was a bit darker , and I didn't want that.The album is a bit more pop, however I'm still rocking of course.But there are especially some uptempo, happy songs on it.With here and there a romantic ballad.'

Totally back again of course. Do you still enjoy it?
'Yes, even though, I notice that some people underestimate this work.It doesn't stop at making music, I wish it was like that! There comes a lot more: lots of travelling, interviews, photoshoots ... That can be heavy sometimes.I rather make songs in the studio, and then perform them live on stage. The rest isn't that necessary for me.'

Well yes, that costs a lot of time indeed.It still stays fun to you then? What do you get out of it?
'I already find it crazy that people know me and my music now. Like every person knows my name in the world, and my songs.And I'm furtive very proud of that.'
