We don't know what kind of music she wrote with The Runners though. Yeah from her tweets she calls it "crazy" and stuff like that, but until we've heard it, we can't assume she's writing bratty TBDT songs. Plus we all know she was ready to move on from that sound, but was forced to return to it with WTH and Smile, but it's clear she doesn't like singing those songs that much and she did not include many songs from TBDT on this tour, so I think she has moved past the bratty songs (at least I hope so). I love TBDT but I agree with you that at her age she needs to move away from that. Bratty is not really appealing for any artist of any age, but it's especially a turn off for a 27 year old. But her work on GL demonstrates her desire to move forward and make more mature music. Her upbeat songs could be along the lines of Stop Standing There, for all we know. I Bet no one expected her to come up with a song like that, did we? It's very retro sounding and kind of jazzy/indie pop. She surprises us every time and does stuff we don't expect and never does the same sound two albums in a row (with the exception of TBDT-style singles for GL) I think she will surprise us this time around and do a completely new sound. And you never know, it may be really good, like something along the lines of Airplanes or Empire State of Mind (singing over a piano with drum beats behind it). Whatever she does, it will have her sound and style in it.
