Ah, I love VC Andrews too, Smappy! The only thing is, I have read just about all of her books, and they somehow all seem to have the same plotline...Always about family trouble and wealthy families...But they are still a good read.
"And as things fell apart, nobody paid much attention."

Hmmm...
Stephenie Meyer
Nicholas Sparks
Cynthia Kadahota
JK Rowling (wasn't on my list before #7, but that book was written beautifully)
Gennifer Choldenko
Thats all I can think of right now...

J.K. Rowling!

Sophie Kinsella always amuses me.
J.K. Rowling of course, HP is the shit.
Margaret Mitchell; "Gone with the Wind" is a fabulous piece of literature...very rich in context, language, etc.
There are more, but I can't think right now.

Erin Hunter and Stephenie Meyer
