Which European countries is Avril MOST popular in?

I know all Avril fans here represent different parts of the world. I live in Canada, and I’ve visited the US many times. And I know Avril is way popular outside North America. So I just have to ask all the foreign Avril fans this question-

Which European countries is Avril VERY popular in? And I’m talking about insanely popular.

I’ve heard that Avril is hugely popular in Italy. But I was hoping if someone could confirm this.

I’ve noticed that both Brazil and Japan LOVE Avril. But those aren’t European countries, of course.

So which European countries LOVE Avril the most? Does anyone know for sure?

Well, im from England. I wouldnt say she was insanely popular, but she has tons of fans, there are way more popular artists that her here. However, she is my favourite

Looking at chart success all European countries except The Netherlands, where Complicated made #2 but it's been all downhill from there, even Girlfriend didn't make the top 40..

she is popular in britain I mean why else would all her albums reach the top spot here, and all my friends are avril fans

I heard that too but when I was in Italy last year I saw nothing, Just an Avril t-shirt. Her songs never played on the radio or nothing

She is pretty big in Ireland, The other day when I was in work the song got played twice on the same station while I was working!

That's true, she isn't as popular as most artists in Britain, But all her albums have hit Number one there.

Yeah, I heard Italy too. She's not that wanted in my country (Belgium), and The Netherlands neither. Used to be in the beginning, but then it faded.

She's overlooked in the UK as well. I think Spain likes her?

I agree she's not very populair here in the Netherlands. The songs of her last album didn't even end in the top 40

I`m form Latvia and here Avril IS very popular. In our most popular site draugiem.lv (it`s something like myspace.com) from about 2`000`000 people in confederate group of Avril are more than 800 people.. and I think it`s much. And about a half of people loves her but they don`t use the internet.

In our charts "When You`re Gone" and "Girlfriend" was 1st songs some weeks.

Her third album opens at the top of the pan-European survey after becoming an instant bestseller in the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Austria and Ireland.

That was from the the original release date. Wouldn't say TBDT had legs tho in the UK. Then again I think the Arctic Monkeys album came out the next week so wasn't going to stay on top.

She would of had UK #1 with Girlfriend if it wasn't for some charity song.

She's not that popular in here (Finland). She has fans and all, but.. the majority of people just aren't that interested... And i think that showed in the concert that she did here few years ago.. Lot's of empty seats... i truly doubt that she'd ever come back here again...
