    We are gonna achieve this:

1.Open ur pic.For the tutorial i take an easy one(that mean doesn't have many details) and it took me around 10 mins.Pick the Pen Tool like i did.

2.Now just start make ur path around the parts who want to have the same colour.

3.I start with the skin as you can see.At the face don't forget to close into paths the eyes and the lips. It's important if you don't want them have the skin colour. You must do that with every part which inside another part.

4.Right click on the pic and Make Selection.

    With that settings.

5.Now Image-->Adjustments-->Hue/Saturation.Check the Colorize and play with the settings until you find the colour you want.

Here the colour i pick for her skin

6.Do the same with all the parts of the pic.My finished pic look like that.

Attention: The current pic it was easy.Pics like that down take me over an hour:
To view the link you have to Register
You can see Avril's jacket is weird. That means you had to make paths for every button and everything else. Also you can add filters on ur pics to look better. But that's not nessecery.
For any question just PM me.

    Rounded Borders Tutorial 1
    Level: Medium

    Made by: PatriciaLavigne

I've been getting asked alot about how to make the rounded edges in blends/icons, so I decided to make a tut for it.

( Note : There's more than one way for this, and I'll be doing it in Photoshop CS2, Paint Shop Pro users there's a special tool in the program for you to do this. )

Okay, we are starting with this :

    and going to this :

First get your icon ready to get the rounded edges.

    Go to File -> New.
Make the new box with the dimensions of your icon/blend ( which mine is 100x100 meaning I'll make a 100x100 empty box. )

Now get this tool and make sure the first color box is filled with black :

Now that you have done that on the new box you've created, using the tool you selected, you now make a box in side the white box. Layer -> Merge Layers. You should get this :

Now that you have your box, choose the Move tool and drag the the box to your icon. Make sure it's the first layer on top.

Now get the Magic Wand tool. Click on the black box, and hit delete. You should now see your icon with white rounded corners.

Now, make sure the box is still selected with the Magic Wand, and now go on top of where the black box use to be ( where you now see your icon ) and right click, and click on the Select Inverse.

You should now see that the white is now selected, now do this :

Now hit the delete bottom. Once you have done that you are done If you wanna get the black line around it then take these extra steps :

    1. Right click on your copy layer and click on Blending Options.
    2. You should get a big box.
    3. Look for " Stroke " in the side of the box. Click on it, and you'll see that your icon has now a rounded line around it. You can choose the color and the size of it, and the position of it to adjust to your icon/blend.

And you're done! You should have gotten this :

Hope this was a somewhat of a help.

    ( I suck at explaining things )

    Rounded Borders Tutorial 2
    Level: Medium

    Made by: Avril Misery

Like Patricia said, there are different ways to make rounded borders. So I'll show you guys how to make them the way I do it. The borders may not be as round but I think it's just as good.

Step 1: If you're going to do any colorization to your picture, do that before you start rounding your border.

So here we have a nice photo of Avril from 2002.

First, I'm gonna click on the rounded rectangle tool which is right here (the tool highlighted in blue):

Step 2: Now that I've clicked on the rounded rectangle tool, I'm going to use it and stretch it around the picture to where I have it how I want the picture to be croped.

Now right click on your picture and select "Make Selection..."

Make sure that when a box pops up that it looks like this then click OK

Now your picture should be selected in the same place you put the rounded rectangle. Now you need to click Select on the top of the screen and click Inverse. Your picture should now look like this:

Now, once your selection has been inversed hit the Backspace key on your keyboard and your background will show whatever color it was. Mine was white.

As your picture is still selected and inversed get your magic eraser and click on the white background that showed once you clicked backspace. Now your background should be transparent:

Step 3: Now that you've done that you can deselect your picture. Now you need to crop your picture, crop it to where it's close to the edge of your picture but not all the way to where you can't see the transparent background.

Now resize your picture to what ever size, save it as PNG, and you're done!

Rounded Corners - 8 Simple Steps
    By: Chris Lemon

This tutorial will teach you how to easily create a blend with round corners and effects, whilst also giving you a few tips on organisation within Photoshop.

    Step 1:
    Make your blend!

    Step 2:
Select all layers (click the top layer, hold shift, then click the bottom layer), and put them in a group by pressing Control (Ctrl) and G

To help you identify the group, you could rename it an appropriate title by double clicking the text of the group in the layer palette.

    Step 3:
Now make sure the group is deselected (not highlighted), and move over the the tools on the left hand side; select the shape tool, and then the Rounded Rectangle Tool from the options at the top.

Before you draw the shape, you may want to adjust out big the corners are going to be; you can do this by setting the radius; measured in pixels.

    Step 4:

Draw out your rectangle! If you want to add a shadow, make sure to leave room; as I have in the image below.

    Step 5:

Right click the group containing your blend, and select Duplicate Group.

    Step 6:
Right click the duplicated group, and select Merge Group.

    Step 7:
Now your blend has become one layer. So you won't be needing the original layers any more, but in case you want to modify it in the future make sure you don't delete them; just hide them by clicking the eye button to the left of the layer title. Move the merged layer to the top of the layers palette, so it's above your rounded corner rectangle, and right click; then click Create Clipping Mask (Sorry it wouldn't take a screen shot! :S)

    Step 8:
You're done! You now have a blend with rounded corners.

If you wish to add effects such as a shadow, double click the shape layer, (but dont click here the text is), and tick the shadow effect. Then mess around with the settings to get the look you want.

See 'Rounded Corners - 8 Simple Steps' before trying this tutorial, as some steps require the previous information.

    Rounded & Squared Corners
    By: Chris Lemon

This tutorial will teach you how to make a blend with both squared, and rounded corners; with an outcome like this:

    Step 1:
    Create your rounded rectangle.

    Step 2:
Create a squared rectangle directly on top of the rounded one, making sure that the edges meet up exactly.

    Step 3:
Add a layer mask to the squared rectangle, and select the brush tool; adjust the brush so it's not at all feathered (Hardness: 100%) and will cover the size of the corners. Then remove two corners of the squared rectangle. (You may need to Rasterize the layer to do this; Right click > Rasterize layer).

    OR

If you're using a version of Photoshop that doesn't have layer masking enabled, you can alternatively use the eraser tool, in the exact same form.

    Step 4:
Now you're shapes should look like the image below; Merge the two rectangles, so they are one shape, and create a Clipping mask with the blend layer. (If unsure if what this is or how to do it; see Step 7 in my To view the link you have to Register Tutorial.

    And you're done!
    Hai thar!
