As I promised , I would have another tutorial up so here it is :
Coloring Tutorial ( Special Black and White effect )
I'm starting out with a b/w pic, before you start anything, desaturate it so it will be b/w.
Okay so we start with this :
And we are going to get this :
Duplicate it once ( or 2-4 times depending how dark your pic is, make sure it's really bright, but focuses on the face or object at the same time. )
Add a Curves Layer with these settings :
Greens :
Point One : Input : 0, Output : 146
Point Two : Input 255, Output : 255
Blues :
Point One : Input : 0, Output : 178
Point Two : Input : 255, Output : 255
Set this to Color Burn.
Make a new layer and fill it in with the coloring #000000 and set it to Hue.
Make another new layer and fill it with the coloring #03082a and set it to Exclusion at 50% ( You can play around with the percents, how ever it fits your pic =] )
Duplicate base and drag it to the top and set it to Soft Light at 75%
Add a black and white Gradient Map layer, and set it to Soft Light at 35%
Add anything you want to add ( text, textures, brushes, etc. )
And voila! :
