It's Monday, it's Picture of the Day and as always, it's all about The Best Damn Thing era! Can you believe just how long it's actually been since we all got our hands on The Best Damn Thing? It's been way over a year now and we just can't get enough! The day after the release of The Best Damn Thing, Avril did a rather special CD signing session and performance at Virgin Megastores in New York on the 18 April 2007! Showing just how amazing she is, Avril wowed the crowd whilst performing with her fellow bandmates and even rode down some escalators! With lots of smiles, lots of laughs and very happy fans, this really is one of many amazing moments from The Best Damn Thing era!

aaaaaah the release of The Best Damn Thing! The day it was released ... i went to the store after school and they just started opening the boxes... I was like the first one to get the CD!!

i have a few pics of this in my profile.

things i remember most about that besides the obvious part of meeting avril:

1) only 300 wristbands, so i went there first thing tuesday morning and there were only about 30 or so people in line tuesday morning. wristbands apparently were still available up to early wednesday or so.
2) a couple girls from sony were in the back with me when i was shooting told me they didnt even know she was doing this till that morning's e-mail.
3) i snuck out of the office, sped down to virgin, watched the performance, got my autograph and sped right back to the office without anyone knowing (not that they'd notice little ol' me missing)
4) she was supposed to start 6:00 but i guess taping TeenNick ran late, she started around 6:45 and only performed 3 instead of 4 songs.
5) to pass the time before avril arrived, i talked it up with one of the virgin security guys and a nice young lady. among topics discussed was how tame the crowd was compared to the BSB/NSync days (which i only saw thru MTV) and how we were at the same FutureSex/LoveShow because i recognized the round stage of the pictures she was deleting to free up space. her sister(?) deleted the pic she took of deryck from a couple days earlier which naturally ticked her off. after the show she took a picture of me by the avril sign and vice-versa. thing is, i never got her name or her number, only her myspace(i admit to sucking at this, i always have). havent seen her since, only a couple friendly messages here and there.
6) when i met avril i kissed her hand saying "I must kiss the hand of the motherfucking princess". it kinda weirded her out but she sorta remembered it when i told her it during the Tour meet and greet.
