    Name: Calum
Instruments I play: Guitar (Accoustic), Guitar (Electric), Tenor Recorder, Tuba, Soprano Recorder, Keyboard/Piano
Musical Influences: John Mayer, Michelle Branch, Avril Lavigne, Simon Paul, Prozzak, Limp Bizket...lots of modern day music, seeing as I was born in the 90's and havn't been exposed to "all the good music!" from back in the day.

Nothing good came out of the 80s. You're not missing much.

    Early 90s music > 80s music

wtf are you talking about?! how can anyone say that?!! who hasn't heard of metallica (especially given the fact that they just got honored by mtv for 20 years good work where even avril payed tribute)? they are possibly the biggest and one of the most influencial bands in the world.

i know some people might not have heard of them, but pantera are also fuckin huge. their album 'far beyond driven' was the first heavy metal album ever to debut at number 1 in the billboard charts and this was during the height of grunge rock in the 90s no less!

how about a little band called van halen? ok, so they started up in the 70s but the 80s was when they boomed.

guns n roses. you can't measure the enormity of some of these bands. and without a lot of these bands you wouldn't have your sum 41's (among other bands), who i know a lot of people around here like.

i gotta say, metallica alone diffuses your little comment there, but there's hundreds more. you cannot justifiably say that nothing good came out of the 80s.

    Okay, one. Metallica.

But they're getting on my nerves nowadays.

And the other bands might have been influential, that doesn't mean I think that they're good. Note this is all going on an opinionary basis (feel better now, Luke?)

okay, as long as you make it clear it's your opinion. and not cold hard facts you're talking about.

and yeah i forgot, pantera were 90s, but they were around in the 80s. they just bore no resemblance to what they later became.
