Disgusting, but similar atrocities have been going on for years and years and years in Darfur.
Darfur, DRC, Uganda, the whole region in Central East Africa.
Kind of on this topic, my friend Sean runs an organization called Falling Whistles. The organization raises awarness for war-affected children in the DRC. It's called Falling Whistles because when children are abducted that are considered too young to fight with a gun, they are given a whistle. Their only job is to stand in front of their fellow soldiers who have guns and blow their whistles at the "enemy" to intimidate them. They are basically human shields and are wiped out immediately because they take out the first line of bullets from the opposing soldiers...falling whistles.
It makes me so angry to think this is happening to children. Not that it should happen to anyone, but the way children are brainwashed on that side of the world is sickening.
A couple of weeks ago, I was in D.C. lobbying senators and representatives to sign on the the Lords Resistance Army Disarmament and Northern Uganda Recovery Act. This single bill being put through the house and congress will help stabalize that entire region. But only 18 senators have signed on to it, and it's up on Friday.
18/100 senators care enough to help child soldiers
These Senators are basically asked if they want to save the lives of children in the DRC and Uganda. The conflicts between the CAR, DRC, Uganda and Sudan are all related. So by them signing this bill calling for President Obama's administration to develop a plan to apprehend Joseph Kony in conjunction with the International Criminal Court, they'd be helping that entire region. This bill better pass, or I'll be raising hell via telephone. It's not a two-sided debate. It's a bi-partisan bill. No democrats or republicans can disagree on this issue - children should not be used in war.
I got angry typing this post, and now I'm not even talking about the Taliban anymore.

Its a horrible thing, it really is. But I have a strong feeling that some of these 'trainers' have no other choice then doing that. Out of fear for there lives/ families etc.
And I'm really not surprised about this, stupid sick people.
