It all started when my friend checked TV4's website (TV4 is a big tv channel over here). It said on the website that they were looking for people who could be in the audience when they were gonna do a special recording of the program Sen Kväll Med Luuk (Late Night With Luuk). Kristian Luuk, the host of the show, was going to interview Avril Lavigne. My friend, Martina, emailed them and told them we wanted 3 tickets, one for me, one for Martina and one for our other friend. We got the tickets in the mail and we freaked out lol. It was fun. We were gonna suprise our friend and take her to the recording without saying anything about what we were gonna do. Her bday was on March 2, so we figured this could be a great bday present. And it really was. It reeeeally was.
We got in the studio and we sat down on the best seats, very close to the chairs where Avril and Kristian Luuk were gonna sit and talk. We had to wait a while, but then they said that they were ready and Avril walked out. It was surreal to see her soo close, she really is tiny! She sat down in the chair and Kristian said "Hey Avril, welcome to Sen Kväll Med Luuk", Avril said "thank you" really quiet. Then Kristian said "So you're from Canada right?" and Avril said "yes I am". Then some guy who worked there came in and said they had to do it all over again. Avril walked out and she came back in lol. I could see that she was really tired. She looked cool though, especially in her ELVIS shirt!
They interview was amazing, she was really nice and it was cool to like hear her answer the questions, it was very different from when you see interviews on TV etc. They talked about hockey and Avril said that a girl started a fight with her on the ice once. Kristian asked "did you kick her ass?" and she said "YEAH!". I let out a WOO!! and I clapped. Avril looked straight at me and smiled. It was really cool. Everyone else in the audience just sat there and said nothing, so I felt that I needed to do that. It was great .
After the TV recording, me and my friends went to the venue where Avril was gonna play. We decided to check out the venue, like the backdoors and stuff. We found Avril's bus. There were 3 actually. I wrote a little note and left it on the bus. I wrote something like "AVRIL YOU FUCKING ROCK! Evan Matt Charlie Jesse, you guys are SO HOT!". When we went back there, my note was gone. Hmm.
Me and my friend Martina left the venue for like 40 minutes, and while we were gone, the security guards had given out special tickets for the ones who had waited there since early in the morning. We had to wait in line to get in, which sucked, because we deserved to get the special tickets. I started to freeze really bad, I was shaking. I felt like I was going to die. It became worse when they started to let people inside. First they took the 100 people with the special tickets inside, then the "regular" people who waited in line. The thing that happened is just so typical of me, seriously.
I couldn't find my ticket.
I don't know how I lost it, I just did. So there I were, they were letting people in and I didn't have my ticket. And well, I freaked out. I ran up to a security guard and I was like "I LOST MY TICKET! PLEASE HELP ME PLEASE PLEASE!!" he was like "I will help you. Sit here while I go get some help" I was like "okay *tear*" lol. Like 30 seconds after that, this lady who worked there came up to me and asked what happened. I told her, and she said "come with me" and we walked by the guards, they didn't even check my bag or anything (I had two cameras). The lady just said "She's with me" and showed them her V.I.P card. I was like "thank you so much". She said "no problem" and smiled and ran away to fix something else. I ran like a crazy MOFO to the closet, took off my jacket and left some stuff, and I ran inside. What if they wouldn't have let me inside? WTF would've I done? I don't even wanna think about it.
I got a pretty good spot at the front, with like two people in front of me. When Our Lady Peace started to play, the crowd moved around a lot and when they were done, I had a great spot right in front of Avril's mic, with only one short dude in front of me.
Before the show started, this dude came on the stage with a camera and he took two pictures. I think it’s for the DVD...
After a while they turned off the lights. It was very dark. Then they had like some lights on and you could see Matt sitting behind the drums, but you could only see his shadow cause there was this curtain in front of him. He played the intro to Sk8er Boi. The 3000 people in the crowd started to scream. The curtain fell off and Evan, Jesse, Charlie and Avril ran onto the stage! There was this huge red star, the avril-star, behind Matt, it looked very cool.
She started off with Sk8er Boi, then Nobody's Fool, Mobile (she played guitar during Mobile). I don't remember the set list, but I do know that she sang every song on the album, she also sang I Don't Give (she changed the lyrics to "i dont give a damn, i dont give a shit"). She played guitar during Naked, Tomorrow and Things I'll Never Say. Those are the ones I remember as of now, I think she played more guitar.
Like half into the show, she asked the crowd if they wanted to go up on stage. Everyone screamed, including me who jumped and screamed and waved more than anyone else... She picked two guys who went up on stage. One of them wore a “Christina sucks – Britney swallows” tshirt, Evan and Jesse loved it. When Avril passed on the mic to them, one dude sang and the other one just shook his head, he didn’t wanna sing. When they left she stage, Avril said that if she could have it her way, she would bring up everyone on stage, not just two people. I thought that was pretty sweet.
Right before she sang I’m With You, Jesse said something like “eww it stinks in here” and Avril said something like “which one of you made it stink so much?”. Everyone was like :| . They didn’t get it. Avril said “haha, that was supposed to be a joke”. LOL.
I think it was during Too Much To Ask, she ran down to the audience and got really really close to everyone at the front, exactly where I was standing. I held her hand twice. Her hands are so small and soft haha. I took two pictures of her when she got that close. I don’t think she liked that though, because she waved her hand against the camera, felt like she wanted to say “take it away” lol. I accidentally touched her mic for like ½ second and this guard just grabbed my hand, it felt like he wanted to throw away my arm or something lol. It was so cute when she took my hand.. something I’ll always remember.
After she sang Unwanted, everyone ran off stage. Everyone screamed AVRIL! AVRIL! And some people even screamed “en gång till” which means “one more time” in swedish. I was like I DONT THINK SHE UNDERSTANDS SWEDISH! Lol. Avril and Evan came back to the stage, Evan had an acoustic guitar and Avril had an electric. They played Tomorrow, followed by Things I’ll Never Say. She thanked us for coming out, she said that she thinks we’re so amazing because we’re making her dream come true, she also said if it wasn’t for all of us, she wouldn’t be doing what she’s doing right now. It was very sweet. She said, and I quote, “YOU GUYS ROCK!”.
Overall, I thought it was a great concert. Avril seemed a bit bored at first, but when the crowd started to mosh around more and scream and sing a long and stuff, she got happy, she even laughed at times. I think she enjoyed being up there, I know I enjoyed being in the crowd, even though I was pushed around all the time lol. My thoughts and opinions about Avril has grown and become even better. She knows how to sing, she knows how to play and she knows how to entertain people while she’s on stage. She proved to me that she can do all of that, and I’m so happy for her. She really is amazing, her voice is so strong. Her voice was amazing during Losing Grip, it was like... I can’t describe it. Everything was just so perfect when she sang that song. The lights, the music, the crowd... Everything.
I hope I get the chance to see her again. She is definitely one of the best singers out there and I know she will come out with a great second album.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to meet Avril and/or the band. I really wanted to meet them, but uh huh uh huh life’s like this uh huh uh huh that’s the way it is. LOL.. I heard that Avril sat somewhere and cried after the concert, she was sad or something. I’m not sure if it’s true, but some dude told me that. I hope it’s not true. Me and my friends went to Avril’s bus after the concert, we waited there for like 30 minutes maybe, but it got so cold so we decided to head back home. The parkinglot was located right next to the Golden Gate where all the celebrities come out if they attend a show at the Globe Arena. Harry Belafonte had a concert at the Globe Arena, which is right next to Annexet (it’s hell lot bigger though, holds about 13 000 people). Anyway, guess who fucking walked out of the Golden Gate? THE SWEDISH QUEEN! Me and my friends were like OMG THE QUEEN! Lol it was cool. We didn’t wanna disturb her though, so we just watched her from a great little distance.. lol. I think Avril came to the bus like 5 minutes after we left. That kind of sucked. But oh well. Avril Lavigne rocks and everyone with tickets for her concerts, consider yourselves the luckiest people in the world!
