Concert: Munich

It is going to be a report from Avril’s concert in Munich written by an ordinary fan (without a pass behind the stage as Greg).
We arrived to Olympiapark at about 4 pm so we had about 4 hours to the beginning of the concert. First we paid 3.5o Euro for parking post (it is nothing as for the German conditions :-) ). After a short rest (we travelled for about 9 hours) we went sightseeing a bit. When we saw the crowds waiting in front of the entrance to the olympiahall (where the concert was going to take place) I thought: it’s good that we already have the tickets :-). I have to admit The Olympic Village is really impressive. From the distance the buildings look like giant circus tents. But when you get closer it appears that they are covered with some kind of plastic or glass. Olympiapark is really giant so the sightseeing took a lot of time. Suddenly I look at my watch and I realised that the box office, where I had to get my booked ticket, was open. Fortunately there were no queues (German Ordnung :-) ). After taking the tickets we had about an hour to the start of the concert so after eating breakfast-dinner-supper we went into the olympiahall. The first thing I noticed was the Germans did there some kind of picnic. All those people were eating pizza, hot dogs (which were two feet long), giant sandwiches, drinking large amounts of beer and other drinks... It looked as if the people were starving for several years. There was also a shop with gadgets connected with Avril, where I spent all my money :-). We found our seats quite fast (the security was helpful). The concert started on time (German perfection :-)). The support was quite good in my opinion (a rock version of Baby one more time - ; by B. Spears was excellent :-). As for the Avril’s concert – it was the best I have seen (and I have seen a lot of concerts in my life). Only on the stage I could notice that Avril is tiny :-). It is hard for me to describe everything – during 1.5 hour this girl really makes you forget about the whole world. There is only Her, Music and You. It is probably due to being totally natural, huge amount of energy that she gives to the people and due to real spontaneity. You can see that on the stage she feels like fish in the water, and she believes in what she does.
As Greg wrote she sang songs from both records (of course in heavier rock versions). It looked really fantastic, when some guys carried in and out of the stage the piano (or something similar, I’m not an expert). As for the songs she sang – there were all or almost all tracks from both records. The atmosphere was really incredible – you can imagine a huge hall filled to the last seat where everybody with lighter above in their hands sing I’m with you... I have to say one thing – no words can describe what happened there. You should go and see that concert or by DVD, that I hope will be realised (some guy was shooting pictures of the crowd from the stage – it can suggest the there is going to be some DVD). If the administrators of the site allow I will place on the site some pictures but not from the concert itself – the equipment was not to good. I have some photos with shop with gadgets, posters on the lamppost, crowds of fans and others. We travelled almost 900 miles in two days, we travelled almost for 20 hours, we spent almost 200 Euro, we slept in a car, but believe me – it was worth it. Finally – thanks to: Avril – just for everything, to my dad for delivering me to the concert and back in one piece, to the fans for safe fun and to the organisers for good organisation.
