Ok, so yesterday, November 11th 2004 I went to the Avril concert here in Chicago, Illinois at the United Center and let me tell you, was it cold waiting for 4 hours outside the stadium just waiting for the people to open the gates to let us in. So my friend Kelly and I get off school at about 1:00pm we head out for the concert at about 2:30pm, we get there at like 3:00pm and we are like the 4th ones there, we just walk around at first, then we ask a worker dude what gates we should wait at for front row general admission, he said gates 2 and 7. We were closer to gate 7 so we waited there till 6:00pm, did I mention it was FREEZING! ( I did.) so then we get in and get out wrist bands and we head for the floor, we get FRONT ROW CENTER! Man was it worth waiting in the freezing cold for. Then we wait, standing till it started at 7:30pm when Butch Walker and American Hi-Fi came out and did there little thing, not bad. Butch was pretty good, I think hes gay because he kept kissing his
guitarist, anyway, in the beginning all went well but towards the end he was like a freak, he broke the strings off 2 guitars and kept crossing his eyes. WEIRDO, but his music was pretty good, just he was a little weird. Then after he got off this huge sign came down that said “Avril Lavigne - Bonez Tour 2004 -Eyes” that was pretty cool too. We waited for like a half hour, which felt like FOREVER! Then finally at 9:00pm the lights go out and the crowd goes wild, including me. Then you hear the beginning of “He Wasn’t” and everyone looses it, you then see her silloute and she starts singing from behind that big banner. Then the banner drops and the crowd goes even more wild. We are all jamming to the song and she looks amazing! Especially up close, shes VERY TINY! But really cute. Anyway, the second song was “My Happy Ending” one of the many favorites of mine. Towards the middle of the show they bust out the piano and she sits down and plays “Together” and “Forgotten” on the piano.
After those songs she goes the the left side of the stage and sits down with the guitar and plays “Tomorrow” then after that one she played “Nobody’s Home” which started off acoustic and then towards the end the band came in, that was pretty sweet. Towards the end of the show my throat was so sore and voice completely gone, she played “Unwanted” last which wasn’t a surprise because she always plays that one last but it’s a great song. Then she comes our for the encore but this time shes not singing, she is playing the drums for the Blur cover song and Butch is doing the lead vocals, that was awesome, she looked so cute playing the drums. Then she comes back out and plays “Complicated” and “Slipped Away” she played “Slipped Away” on the piano as well. That one was one of the best because the crowd was the most quiet during that one, they all sang and stuff but the vibe was so different, that was pretty cool. She then finished and said thanks for coming out and bowed down for all
three parts sections of the stage and ran off. Wow, that was prolly the best time I ever had seeing Avril, and now I can officially say I saw her 4 times in concert!!!!! If anyone hasn’t got tickets for the shows coming up I HIGHLY RECOMMED it, you wont regret it. THE SHOW KICKED ASS!!!!!!!!!
