Cardiff - October 9th, 2004 by AVRIL_COFFEE112 - Bonez Tour

Concert: Cardiff

Date: October 9th 2004

kk you guys here is my review of last nights Cardiff show. I havent seen one posted yet so heres mine.

I arrived at the arena at around 8:55am and there were like about say 6 people there, so i met this girl sarah and Toby_sk8erboi from bandaids and his girlfriend and we waited in line for almost 10 hours for the show. So around 3pm we heard that Avril was doing a soundcheck and that she would be coming out for the fans and to sign some stuff, but she said no in the end cos they were late for soundcheck as it was. Sooo after a long period of time and a lot of waiting the doors opened at 6:30pm and we got let in and searched and got our tickets taken and we all ran for the hall and I got right by the barricade which was fuckin awesome. So we waited till like 7:35pm and then Simple plan came on and they did a 40min set and sang some songs from they're new album (out oct 21) and did some songs from 'no pads, no helmets..just balls' album and then they left and we had a half hour interval before avril came on at 8:45pm.

Now for the Avril part:

So the lights went down and you could just here the first couple of bars from 'He Wasn't and then you could just see a shillouette of her as she sang the first couple of lines and it was amazing. Then the Back-drop dropped and she was just there with her band and it was awesome. So she sang he wasn't and then it went straight into my happy ending and that was killer she seemed really happy and stuff. Then after that she sang take me away which was really good and she played guitar on it aswel as all the other songs, she's gotten really good at playing it now. Then she sang Freak Out which she gave a little intro to and said something along the lines of ' this song is about letting go and being yourself..and FREAKING OUTTT', then she went straight into the song which I might say her voice has gotten much stronger than it was from the last tour and she sounded amazing. Then it was Sk8er boi which she also gave a little intro too and said 'you guys should all know this one..JUMPP', and the guys played the intro for sk8er boi and she sang that. Then it went straight into anything but ordinary which was also amazing, then she sang who knows which I loved cos she sounded amazing singing that song, and its one of my fav songs. Then she played I'm with you, and then mobile which was awesome cos thats the song that they were showing the new clips from the new DVD of her boxer-training and stuff which was awesome!, and she introduced her band half way through it aswel. Then it was Naked which she also gave an intro too and she said ' is anyone here tonite with theyre girlfriend or boyfriend, yeah..noo..ok..well the next song I'm going to play is called 'Naked' and its about being able to be comfortable with each other and be yourselfs and stuff, so if your here with someone tonite then put your hands on theyre butt or give them a hug or something haha..here goes' that song was amazing her vocals on that song were incredible. Then it was Losing grip which was amazing cos I loveee the intro to that song and the fist thing she gets the crowd to do with the beat of the drums. And I loved it cos they played the video in slow motion in the back-ground but it was mainly the part where she crows-surfs. Then the lights went down for a min or so and when they came up Av was behind the piano and she said 'this next song that I'm going to sing is my favorite song off the album and its called 'together', that was amazing..shes really good at the piano, then still at the piano she played 'Forgotten which was AMAZING I love that song, its my second fav off the record. Then she did 3 acoustic songs which were amazing tomorrow which was killer and I loved what she said before it 'sometimes you have to make a conclusion, or a desision..but sometimes its better to wait until tomorrow'. Then she did Fall to pieces which was amazing, then it was Nobody's home which the band joined in at the end of it. (btw I saw matt lavigne there and I called him and I was like 'matt, mattttttt' and he looked and I was like 'hey' and I waved and he waved and smiled.) Then it was back with the band and she did 'Dont tell me' which as always she dedicated to the girls. Then she said goodnight and rocked out to 'Unwanted' which was killer with her running around the stage and the lights flashing. Then time for the oncore which she came out and did complicated and then finally slipped away which was breath-takingly amazing.

and she said goodnight and came out and went to the left side of the stage bowed and waved and smiled and the same with the centre and left stage.

And thats my nighttttt!!!

haha

Amy

(sorry about the longness of it all)
