San Francisco - April 9th 2004 by Lindsay - Mall Tour
April 9th - Southland Mall
Reviewer : Lindsay
I went to the San Francisco concert (it was actually in a city near SF called Hayward). My friend and I showed up at the mall around 12:30 to just hang out and shop, but there were already some kids waiting to be let in to the viewing area. We went in around 4 and got pretty good spots, about 30 feet away. The AOL people come out a bunch before the show and tryed and get the crowd to act like they actually care about AOL and then threw out free stuffed toys. Avril came out and played Don't Tell Me and some of her other new songs. She didn't really talk in between songs much at all and she just sat on the stool. But the new stuff sounded great with just the guitars, so it must be awesome on the album. She closed with Complicated and then went straight off stage. She didn't sign any autographs or anything like that. I think she might have mumbled thanks or bye on her way out, it was a bit hard to tell with the screaming. The music was great but some of the people there were really annoying. One girl had a spot pretty close to the stage, so she had to have been waiting there for at least 2 hours, and she spent the whole concert flipping off Avril and Evan and making no evil signs at them.
