April 14th - Southwest Plaza

So, my friends Scott, Dani and I woke up at 7 AM and left for the mall. We live close by so we got there at about 7:30 or so. Surprisingly, there was already someone there waiting by herself. Her name was Meghan(I think that's how you spell it). She got there at 5 AM. We hung out with her for the day. So we were waiting and people started showing up by 9 or so and by noon, there were probably like 40 people there. Mostly 6th and 7th graders. Meghan was 18 though, so that was cool. The three of us decided to try and find where Avril's bus was, so after a little bit of sneaking around in the back rooms where the emergency exits are, we eventually found where it would be parked. At the time, though, the only bus there was the bus for the stage equipment and stuff. Around 1:00, they let us go up to the stage and my friends and I and Meghan all got right up front in the center. Standing there for 5 hours was so hard because every minute went by so freaking slow. Later that night, when we watched the news, we were on there and we looked so bored..there's pictures of me sleeping on the railing. Pretty funny stuff. Anyway, so after impatiently standing there and watching the AOL guys try to hype us up..she finally came on!! I almost crapped my pants. Well, not really. But ya know. Anyway, so she came on and she barely talked. That definitely sucked. But the performance was soo amazing. I don't really remember the order of the songs, but she played the same 6 songs that she's been playing all through the tour. My friends and I were trying so hard to get her to play Tomorrow because we love the way she sings it. In between each song we were yelling, "Play Tomorrow! Please, Avril! PLAY TOMORROW!!" She just smiled at us and Evan's like, "We'll play Tomorrow tomorrow." That was kinda poopy. We really wanted to hear it. Anyway, so she played the songs and, THANKS TO BANDAIDS, we knew all the words. So she kept looking at us and smiling and stuff..which was soo amazing! And then she said, "How do you guys know the words?!" So that was awesome. At the time, though, we didn't know the words to Nobody's Home because my computer's a crapface. So when we heard it, we were going insane! We loved what she does with her voice ("Her feelings she hides, her dreams she can't find"). So we were screaming at the top of our lungs that she's so amazing and we love her and stuff..she kept laughing and stuff. It was so cool. It's so crazy that I'm so used to seeing her in pictures and on TV and there she was, 5 feet away from me.
At the end of the songs, she was out of there so fast. So we bolted out of there and tried to squeeze through the crowd to get to the tour bus. We waited for about 20 minutes..and we were way in the back because we forgot to leave during Complicated (the last song) so people were already there. Our friend Trina came over, too, to get an autograph. Dani, Scott, and I got her autograph but Meghan and Trina didn't, unfortunately. I couldn't even see her through the crowd though because I'm so short. Dani had to grab my guitar tab book and reach over. I could only see the top of her head. After we got the autographs, we all jumped in Trina's car and tried to follow the bus because someone we had met that day said that she's done it before and met her when they stopped at a grocery store or something. We lost it though because it was too far ahead of us. So we just gave up. We weren't about to follow them to Indianapolis. So, yeah..that's my story. It was soo amazing!! I'll never forget it. Can't wait for the new album!! .
