Step 4:
Now, we will prepare to animate. With the now layer 5 left open, open up layers 1,2, 3 and 4 and leave all 5 layers on the screen.
Now, open the animation window. To do this, simply select window(at the top of the page)>animation, i.e.
When you tick "animation", this window should appear:
(note how layer 1(the layer with no "X"s on it) is visible in it. I done this by simply clicking on the actual layer 1.
Now, for the hard part. I'll try to explain this as best as I can to help you.
Select layer 2. Now, click this icon on the animation window:
You should see a list of options. Click "copy frame":
A window will appear, asking which way you want to copy it. Select "paste after selection" if it is not already default.
Note: You should always have the previous animation layer selected when pasting in the new one*. I.e. when clicking "copy frame" for layer 3, have animation layer 2 selected in the animation window.
(When I say "animation layer", I am reffering to the small image of the layer in the animation window, and not the actual layer itself)
*But this will usually happen automatically anyway, so don't worry about it.
Now, select the actual layer 1 again. Click the same icon on the animation window, followed by "paste frame". You should now see this if you still have layer 1 selected:
Do the very same thing for every layer. (select the next layer, "copy frame", select layer 1 again and "paste frame")
When you have done this for every layer, click the play button on the animation window (while layer 1 is selected). You should now see something like this:
If you feel that the images are appearing too fast, you can edit the timing of each layer. To select every layer, hold CTRL and left click on every layer until they're all highlighted.
Now, right-click on "0 sec" on any one of these layers, and here, you can edit the time. I set mine to 0.5 seconds:
And you're done
Layer 1 is now actually your animated blend. So click file>save for web, and make sure to save it as a .gif file; only then will it continue to remain animated.
