Step 4:

Now, we will prepare to animate. With the now layer 5 left open, open up layers 1,2, 3 and 4 and leave all 5 layers on the screen.

Now, open the animation window. To do this, simply select window(at the top of the page)>animation, i.e.

When you tick "animation", this window should appear:

(note how layer 1(the layer with no "X"s on it) is visible in it. I done this by simply clicking on the actual layer 1.

Now, for the hard part. I'll try to explain this as best as I can to help you.

Select layer 2. Now, click this icon on the animation window:

You should see a list of options. Click "copy frame":

A window will appear, asking which way you want to copy it. Select "paste after selection" if it is not already default.

Note: You should always have the previous animation layer selected when pasting in the new one*. I.e. when clicking "copy frame" for layer 3, have animation layer 2 selected in the animation window.
(When I say "animation layer", I am reffering to the small image of the layer in the animation window, and not the actual layer itself)

*But this will usually happen automatically anyway, so don't worry about it.

Now, select the actual layer 1 again. Click the same icon on the animation window, followed by "paste frame". You should now see this if you still have layer 1 selected:

Do the very same thing for every layer. (select the next layer, "copy frame", select layer 1 again and "paste frame")

When you have done this for every layer, click the play button on the animation window (while layer 1 is selected). You should now see something like this:

If you feel that the images are appearing too fast, you can edit the timing of each layer. To select every layer, hold CTRL and left click on every layer until they're all highlighted.

Now, right-click on "0 sec" on any one of these layers, and here, you can edit the time. I set mine to 0.5 seconds:

And you're done

Layer 1 is now actually your animated blend. So click file>save for web, and make sure to save it as a .gif file; only then will it continue to remain animated.

If you're having any problems in creating your very own moving masterpieces, feel free to pm me (Brian - Running with Scissors) anytime.

Downloading Brushes and Fonts into Paint Shop Pro
Level: Beginner

Made by: Running With Scissors

I will be using Corel Paint Shop Pro X2.

Part 1: Brushes

There are many different websites to download brushes from, but my favourite is deviantART .

Search for "Paint Shop Brushes" or "PSP brushes"; whatever you feel is relevant to what you want. Here, I will be searching for "Paint Shop Brushes blood".

After clicking on the image of the set in the search results, click "download" on the left hand side of the screen:

You will then be prompted to download it. Click "open". Once it opens in a new window, click on the zip file, to reveal something like this:

(remove any read me files, etc. where present-they are of little or no use to you)

Now, highlight all the brush icons by right clicking the mouse and dragging it across.

Now, click "move the selected items" on the left hand side of the window. Select the "brushes" folder you created in "my pictures" (or wherever) and click "move".

Now, you can open up Paint Shop. Click

FILE>IMPORT>CUSTOM BRUSH. You should now see something like this:

Click "open", and open the folder with your brushes. Copy them all. Now, you can click "add all" followed by "ok".

And you're done! Now you can use the brushes by selecting the paint tool, and selecting the brush type.

Part 2: Fonts

My favourite font site is Download fonts | dafont.com .

Select whatever font you desire, and click "download".

Upon prompted to download, click "open".

Click on the drop down bar, and copy & paste this font file into:

local disk (C: > WINDOWS > fonts

Not only will the font now appear in microsoft word, etc. but it should also appear as a font in paint shop pro.

If you have any problems with either of these tutorials, feel free to pm Running With Scissors (Brian).

Using gradients in paint shop pro:
Level: Beginner

Made by: Running with Scissors

I will be using this image you show you the different ways you can colorize using Corel Paint Shop Pro:

First, I will add a gradient to this image. To do this, open your image in paint shop pro.

Now, create another layer. To do this, select "layers" on the toolbar at the top followed by "new rastor layer":

Now, with this layer selected, click on the paint tool, followed by one of the paint colour selection boxes:

A window will appear. Select "gradient". Here, you can select which type of clour gradient you want. I'm going to select sky 3:

Now, simply fill this layer with that colour using any paint brush. You can then bring the opacity down to whatever you want. I'm going to choose 50%:

If you right click on this layer in the layer menu on the right, you will be albe to click 'properties'.

In "blend mode" you can try out many different settings. I'm going to choose "lighten".

This is the finished result:

Making a blend:
Level: Beginner

Made by: Yiota

1.You have opened the pic and copy them into a new layer.Mine’s resolution is 500x200.Your layers must be like this:

2.As u can see a part from the pic at layer too it’s above the pic of layer 1.I’m getting the eraser tool and erased the part of layer 2 that i don’t want.
(You can change the layers order as u want but i think u are gonna erased again a part of the top layer so the blend look good.At this one i didn’t do anything)
Your blend must look like this:

3.Now we have to merge the layers.

Your layers are only one now.

4.Now that ur blend is merged u can add effects, filtres, brushes or nothing.I’m adding a filter at this one.

The blend look this now:

5.If u want to make a border at the blend.Select all the blend and then Stroke.

Importing GIFS and videos to PhotoShop
Level: Beginner

Made by: HotRunaway

This is something i learnt not so long ago and I'd like to share it with you guys since i find it really useful.

First of all, go into the File Menu, select Import and choose Import Video Frames to Layers. You may need to install Quick Time, which is free and can be downloaded from the Apple Site. If you can't download or install Quick Time, let me know and I'll help you.

You should get a dialog box like this one:

You may notice that the format of the file you want to import is not supported so, what can we do now?! Don't worry, there's always a workaround . Go to the folder that contains the file you want to import and write its file name in the box. Just like "Animated avatar.gif" and press enter.

So, is this helpful?!

Of course it is!
  • For example, you want to upload an animated avatar and its size is 105 KB and the maximum file size is 100KB! So what are you gonna do now?! Well, import this gif and go into Export for Web and Devices and compress it until its size is 100KB.
  • You want to edit an existing GIF. Well then import the gif file and edit it as much as you want!
  • You want to make an animated blend and don't want to spend too much time. Using this method can help you import the frames you want without wasting time.

Hope this helps!

Adding Notebook Textures
Level: Advanced

Made by: bestofavril (agvarmizle)

First you need to make your blend, i did it just like this..

After you've fineshed it, you should search for some notebook textures on internet like this:

Then open your texture with photoshop..

Resize notebook texture just like how you want..

Then carry it on your blend.. Move it anywhere you want on your blend..

Then click on darken.. ( you can see where it is below )

Here it is.. Our blend is ready.. ( my blend is too long for texture )

So i resized texture again, now it is better.. if you made anything wrong just go back and fix it..

To make it better you should find good notebook textures..
I hope it helps..

You can find some textures here:
